an upgrade is long since over due. but... after like 15 years of being with infopop, i think it might be time to switch to another software type. the features are just outdated on this ole guy, and the new version of infopop is still months, if not years, away (it was sposda be out in march of this year)
that said... any preferences? stick with infopop? vbulletin? phpbb? (which i think i hate) phorum? something else i dunno about?

seriously though, is this board broken enough to need an upgrade? why fix something that's not broken.
I've been a poster in the kind of forums that use the examples you mentioned. I prefer what we have now. Or if I had to choose, phbb is the most userfriendly.

This is the only message board I know where you can click on a thread in a forum and it doesn't mark all the other threads in that forum as read. Please don't get rid of that.
What kind of advantages does upgrading come with? I really don't want to see stuff like facebook integration or those little "share" buttons that are showing up everywhere else.

I think the board as is runs as we need it to. Another migration just means possibly losing moties, posts, and other fun stuff as well as the inevitable crash that will come soon after or during.

We could also use a search engine that's marginally functional. If you believe there are zero matches for the word "Rob" in the whole nine year lifespan on these boards, I'd like to sell you a parachute that opens on impact.
