Thanks to the new Obama health care system it seems up to 30,000 McDonald’s may lose all medical coverage provided by the company. The health care bill requires certain amounts of coverage as well as several other requirements. Currently it seems that up to 30,000 McDonald’s employees that have insurance will likely lose this coverage because it does not meet the national requirements.
The so-called “mini” medical health plans are not exclusive to just McDonald’s workers however. As many as 1.5 million Americans working at part time jobs are likely in a similar situation as McDonald’s employees. The plans are usually paid for in part by the employees and often are very limited in the coverage they offer. Under the proposed health care bill companies will be required to spend 80% or more of their premium revenue on health care plans for employees, except in cases which have earned an exception.
McDonald’s has however commented that they do not at this time plan to drop the mini health plans for employees. McDonald’s and other large companies have also said that they plan to continue working with legislators to find a better balance with the healthcare bill. Experts propose that legislators find a way to make the health care system an opt-in system, meaning employees could keep which ever health care plan they wish. Critics say this puts too much responsibility on the employee who may or may not be able to make a responsible decision.*
Until a consensus is reached it is unlikely any major health care reform will be passed. There is already substantial opposition to all types of health care reform; so it is quite likely the first bill passed will be the only one that ever takes effect.

Yet, again, Democrats treat you like you are a moron that can't make your own decision.
