...sort of. I had two premolars extracted on tuesday and it feels like vicodin is the only thing keeping me alive. sonsabitches broke one of the teeth they were trying to pull and cut way into my lower jaw to get at the roots. the meds don't really knock me out or make me all that loopy, but sometimes if I take them without much food I feel a little out of it and start to wonder if this is how pro feels on weekends. it's not entirely unpleasant. so if you can get that feeling on command, more power to ya, buddy.  seriously though, even with the drugs this fucking hurts.

Dude, I've had similar oral surgeries. So, yeah, stick with the Vicodin. You will need them! As for the buzz differences: Vicodin and those kind of pills make people "not care" about anything or it gives them a slight feeling of euphoria. Mostly both at the same time. Weed, if it's good weed, will have the same effect, but a little more concentrated. However, it's a far more "cerebral" buzz than anything. It can really fire up the imagination sometimes, and sort of presents a blanket of focus for the mind. And, if you're new to it, it makes you a giggling hungry idiot for an hour.  Hope you feel better buddy!

my wife misses it sometimes - she had to give it up once she found out she was pregnant, along with cigarettes (cold turkey, in one day). she keeps listing all the stuff she wants to do as soon as she has the baby, but I'm not sure if the herb will make the cut.

I think never letting her go back to cigs is a good choice. But, I don't see the harm in her catching a buzz every so often. Cut her some slack, she's going to be popping a human out of her vagina. It's your job to support her...

It's your job to support her... she's her own person; I'm not trying to tell her what she should and shouldn't be putting in her body once the baby's here. she's a very intelligent person and she knows the ups and downs of all her options. the main reason I don't mess with the stuff myself is just a personal thing: I don't like ceding any amount of control to a substance - any substance. I always stop at two drinks - on the rare occasion I drink at all - and I only take things I know will affect me somehow if I know I absolutely need them to manage pain or some other symptom. I'm not trying to pass judgment or cast aspersions on people who have other methods of medicating themselves; it's just not my thing.
