I'm sure george soros is doing a bang-up job of making the world a better place. ;\)

What does whoever that is have to do with anything I said? I hope you're not thinking with a partisan brain there...

first of all, I've said it before and I'll say it again. it is thoroughly impossible as a human being to be completely unaffected by bias. thinking you are just means you need to brush up on being able to detect it - hell, everyone's a fuckin professional when it comes to seeing bias in other people! and let's not even bother bringing party into this, unless you're really interested in a point-for-point rhetorical analysis of your use of sloganeering over the course of this thread - and I'm a friend, man! \:p

to answer your question, billionaire george soros is an 'economist' and venture capitalist (though he'd never admit to it) who has been credited with almost singlehandedly 'destroying the british pound' through short-selling and speculative sabotage. he's originally from... somewhere in eastern europe, can't be bothered to look up where right this moment. wondy will gladly inform you that he is the mind and checkbook behind media matters and moveon.org, but those are only his most visible politically-oriented hobbies.

come on, man, he's an eastern european billionaire with a palindromatic surname accused of destroying national currencies! that just screams bond villain! anyway, my point is that he's one of the richest men around, and just as involved on wall street and in washington and in the media as anyone out there, yet his support of left-leaning media outlets generally earns him a free pass when it comes time for the useful idiots to start bashing anyone who makes more money than the parents who paid for their six-year journey to a gender studies degree with a GPA scraping the bottom of the three-point range.

"I'm sorry, we have to end it there because our handlers just told us to cut the feed..."

13-year-old arrested at a peaceful protests. NYTimes and others already beginning to confirm that the Police led protestors into a kettling zone on the bridge, and then arrested them all. Entrapment. OccupyLA, Chicago, and Boston underway, as well. The world is trying to change, people.

I really hope this is the beginning of an "American Spring".

No, I don't. I don't give a shit about whiny entitled hippies. If someone wants to make the world a better place they do it through good things, not destruction. All the protesters are doing is looking for attention and getting in the way of people who want to live their lives. Protesting accomplishes nothing positive. It will make people care less about your cause. There are many ways these losers can improve themselves and others but taking over cities is not one of them.

So, the Founding Fathers should have just sat back and done nothing? The protestors in Egypt that overthrew Mubarack, they should have done nothing? Come on, Rex! Stop blinding yourself with antiquated talking points. These "dirty hippies" you keep going on and on about died in the late 60's. You might have to deal with homeless druggies in your town. Tough shit, we all do. But, these are activists, Rex. These are students, union workers, teachers, musicians, artists, you name it! There's reports that there are even bankers involved, themselves. I'm sure they're talking about the tellers at the bank, and not Wall Street tycoons. But, my point is stop lumping everyone together. You have no evidence whatsoever that the Occupy Movement is in any way made up of "dirty hippies", save your immediate bias. The police have released alternative video that appears to contradict the protesters’ claim that it was a set-up.

Note the protesters chanting “take the bridge, take the bridge” while the officer warns them they will be arrested if they proceed.

If, as the hippies claim, this was a trap and that they were invited onto the bridge, they wouldn’t have been chanting that.

It also appears the chants of “let us go” are actually demands to be allowed to proceed on the illegal march.

I would also point out the “press accounts” which Pro claims verify the hippies’ version tend to be simply recitations that the hippies are making allegations against the police. They aren’t independent verification.

Again, this seems to be simply an attempt for the hippies to drum up sympathy for a fringe cause.

Horseshit.

There was no natural uprising in Egypt or Palestine, these people were foreign-led and organized by William Ayers, Code Pink, and other leftist groups from the United States.

And they still wouldn't have been able to overthrow Mubarek if Barack Obama (a leftist-indoctrinated brethren of their anti-colonial cause) hadn't abdicated responsible U.S. foreign policy to endorse the overthrow of our ally, and put Egypt on the islamic radical path to become another islamic Iran.

Not to mention the open-season on Christians that has been declared in Egypt and Libya since these uprisings began. Murdering christians, burning their churches, and more often just driving them out.

It's Muammar Gaddafi who has sent rape troops against his country's citizens. It should also be noted that he had an atomic bomb program. Ironically, it was the US invasion of Iraq that made him stop it, while US State Department was shocked to learn that Libya had such a program.

Because liberals and the liberal media always selectively omit mention of any liberal wealthy elite who are pumping tens of millions into the system to leverage their interests over those of the middle class and poor.

If Soros has his way and collapses the dollar, it is the middle class and poor who will suffer and perhaps even starve, not the Soroses, Clooneys, Streisands, Gores and so on.

I called you before on pleading for "non-partisanship", even as you demonize Rupert Murdoch and Fox News.

You, M E M-esque, pull a "Republicans do it too", in trying to compare Rupert Murdoch to Soros. But to do so accurately, you would have to raise Murdoch's cash into the conservative machine tenfold to equal the 48 million Soros pours into liberal groups annually.

  • from Do Racists have lower IQ's...

Liberals who bemoan discrimination, intolerance, restraint of Constitutional freedoms, and promotion of hatred toward various abberant minorities, have absolutely no problem with discriminating against, being intolerant of, restricting Constitutional freedoms of, and directing hate-filled scapegoat rhetoric against conservatives.

EXACTLY what they accuse Republicans/conservatives of doing, is EXACTLY what liberals/Democrats do themselves, to those who oppose their beliefs.

Bernard Goldberg in his book BIAS described how liberal reporters, interviewing political groups they are sympathetic toward, whether it's National Organization for Women, or gay organizations or whatever, tend to accept and report verbatim the comments or statistics these groups give, and conversely report with maximum skepticism, cynicism and negative spin what conservatives say. Consciously or unconsciously.

This is yet another example, where the media has chosen a side they are sympathetic toward, and abandoned all but the illusion of objectivity.

That Gaddafi had a nuclear program that no one detected before he turned it over to U.N. inspectors makes the case for U.S. invasion of Iraq, Iran and other rogue nations.
U.S. invasion of Iraq was the deterrant that made Gaddafi surrender his nuclear program, rather than be the next invaded.

With the strong islamic militant presence, and even Al Qaida presence among Gaddafi's opposition, it's quite possible that the government that replaces Gaddafi could be more murderous than Gaddafi's rape brigade.

http://news.yahoo.com/wall-street-protesters-were-long-haul-180515533.html

 Quote:
NEW YORK (AP) — The protesters who have been camping out in Manhattan's Financial District for more than two weeks eat donated food and keep their laptops running with a portable gas-powered generator. They have a newspaper — the Occupied Wall Street Journal — and a makeshift hospital.

They lack a clear objective, though they speak against corporate greed, social inequality, global climate change and other concerns. But they're growing in numbers, getting more organized and show no sign of quitting.

City officials "thought we were going to leave and we haven't left," 19-year-old protester Kira Moyer-Sims said. "We're going to stay as long as we can."

Saturday's arrests of more than 700 protesters who tried to cross the Brooklyn Bridge appeared to do little to dampen enthusiasm Sunday.

The Occupy Wall Street demonstration started out last month with less than a dozen college students spending days and nights in Zuccotti Park, a private plaza off Broadway. It has grown sizably, however, both in New York City and elsewhere as people across the country, from Boston to Los Angeles, display their solidarity in similar protests.

Moyer-Sims, of Portland, Ore., said the group has grown much more organized. "We have a protocol for most things," she said, including getting legal help for people who are arrested.

The protest has drawn protesters of diverse ages and occupations, including Jackie Fellner, a marketing manager from Westchester County.

"We're not here to take down Wall Street. It's not poor against rich. It's about big money dictating which politicians get elected and what programs get funded," she said.

On Sunday, a group of New York public school teachers sat in the plaza, including Denise Martinez of Brooklyn. She most students at her school live at or below the poverty level, and her classes are jammed with up to about 50 students.

"These are America's future workers, and what's trickling down to them are the problems — the unemployment, the crime," she said. She blamed Wall Street for causing the country's financial problems and said it needed to do more to solve them.

Police officers have been a regular sight at the plaza, but NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said the protest has not led the department to assign additional officers to the area. The department won't change its approach to handling the protest and will continue regular patrols and monitoring, he said.

"As always, if it is a lawful demonstration, we help facilitate and if they break the law we arrest them," Browne said.

The Fire Department said it had gone to the site several times over the past week to check for any fire safety hazards arising from people living in the plaza, but there have been no major issues.

The protesters have spent most of their time in the plaza, sleeping on air mattresses, holding assemblies to discuss their goals and listening to speakers including filmmaker Michael Moore and Princeton University professor Cornel West.

On the past two Saturdays, though, they marched to other parts of the city, which led to tense standoffs with police. On Sept. 24, about 100 people were arrested and the group put out video which showed some women being hit with pepper spray by a police official. On Oct. 1, more than 700 people were arrested as the group attempted to cross the Brooklyn Bridge.

Some of the protesters said they were lured onto the roadway by police, or they didn't hear the calls from authorities to head to the pedestrian walkway. Police said no one was tricked into being arrested, and that those in the back of the group who couldn't hear were allowed to leave.

The NYPD on Sunday released video footage to back up its stance. In one of the videos, an official uses a bullhorn to warn the crowd. Marchers can be seen chanting, "Take the bridge."

Browne said that of the most recent arrests, the vast majority had been released. Eight people were still being held Sunday, three because of outstanding warrants and five others who refused to show any identification.

Gatherings elsewhere included one in Providence, R.I., that attracted about 60 people to a public park. The participants called it a "planning meeting" and initially debated whether to allow reporters to cover it.

In Boston, protesters set up an encampment across the street from the Federal Reserve Building.

Its a good thing they have no commitments to anything else.

The ties to leftist radicalism get more and more difficult to deny.

And when Prometheus uses the exact same radical-left America-hating desire to duplicate an Egyptian-style revolution inside the United States, it becomes more and more laughable that he would try to label anyone else as "extreme" or bad for America. Since he's constantly linking the most hard-left websites and propaganda rhetoric here to proselytize.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Star

"The red star. The five-pointed red star, a pentagram without the inner pentagon, is a symbol of communism as well as broader socialism in general. It is sometimes understood to represent the five fingers of the worker's hand, as well as the five continents." (this is an exerpt)

There's a lot of questions going around about the red star signs and the like that are showing up on democratnationalcommittee.com.

They state on their site that they are independent of the Democrat National Committee, but why are they so free to place the communist/socialist red star on Barack Obama merchandise? And what's the link to William Ayers red star on the black shirt he was wearing during the attempted Bill O'Reilly interview?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfyc1qr1CBU

Inquiring minds want to know!

The democratnationalcommittee.com website is registered with victoryenterprises.com. Here's a blurb off their website... I'm sure they are non-partisan.

"Victory Enterprises has successfully assisted numerous Associations and Interest Groups across the Midwest with their political and membership activities. From survey research to paid media campaigns, Victory Enterprises has effectively helped its clients pass meaningful legislation, or just as importantly, we helped protect an organization's membership from potentially damaging legislation.

Victory Enterprises has also helped its clients influence policy makers at all levels of government through our extensive phone services. In addition, Victory has worked on extensive referendum campaigns for chambers of commerce, community colleges and local school districts."

And it connects even more directly to both William Ayers and Barack Obama.

If only the liberal media would report it.

All three of you are so embittered by your own insecurities, you cannot see outside your own obsessively fantasy-driven universe. Just forget I even tried. I just hope you are prepared to find your liberties, freedom, and personal finance crumbling around your ears. If you're not prepared to stand-up for yourself and think for yourself, then you deserve what you get.

When the bankers fall, G-Man will probably die first, because of his age. He won't be able to survive in the elements. Rex will probably live for awhile on the bodies of his friends and family. But, after that, who knows? And I'm pretty sure Wondy will just eat a shotgun barrel the moment society collapses. I hope I'm wrong.

Because you're the opposite of normal and rational. You're one of them now. Embrace your craziness.

There's a certain irony in Pro demanding we think for ourselves... and then having a minor meltdown, complete with name calling and apocalyptic fantasies under which we will all be sorry, simply because we disagree with him and his conspiracy theories.

Yes, yes, rationalize it however you like, man. Assume the attitude and spin it, like normal. No one is surprised, and certainly no one outside the sheep really care...

JLA! "They" have already told you! The Police are completely innocent and it was the fault of those American citizens to think they could have any rights! The Bankers are job providers, allowing for unemployment to skyrocket while taking bail-out loans. Thousands upon thousands have lost their home to foreclosure, and a lot are living on the streets. But, the Bankers needed that money to go on spa trips and finance their military contractors in the Middle East. Don't you care ANYTHING about Corporations? Jeez...

I'm not the one supporting a fascistic system designed to maintain the status quo. Enjoy your role.

Oh! Funny. How times just don't change.

G-Man did his normal "I'll show him" sulk, and created a frontpage banner, mocking whatever he doesn't support or can't understand...

"They wanna save the earth, but all they do is smoke pot & smell bad"

No, no bias there. Completely objective.

I swear to god, I think you're lying and are really 14. I just can't comprehend anyone the age you claim to be acting like such a spoiled little child. How petty.

Good grief. The Portal Page! I forgot all about that!

Just looking at it again, I'm reminded of his prediction that the Palin love-fest movie would be a sell-out in theatres. The backpedaling soon followed.

We can expect more backpedaling and thread hijacking as a response to the latest YouTube clips here.
