it's a vicious cycle. you make an open-source browser modular so people can pick and choose their own addons. developers - many of them amateur with very little programming background - roll out fucktons of extensions/plugins/filler to add onto it. certain fractions (fucklings?) of said fucktons require additional resources not originally reserved by the browser kernel. shit has to be tacked on so the browser is compatible with more addons. tacked-on shit allows developers to make new and exciting fucktons of filler. rinse and repeat. that's not even accounting for reputable developers' updates and new versions of java, flash, silverlight, &etc. before long, even if you're not using any of the available addons, the core of your browser still has to theoretically support them, meaning your system has to load an increasingly hefty kernel with an increasingly hefty library of extensions. chrome's headed that way; it'll just take longer (I hope) since google's had the benefit (I think) of seeing firefox go this route first.
Ah, now that makes sense, really. I have noticed a slight deterioration in Firefox in the last year or so...

I don't take it personally, no. Not from you. But, when it comes to this subject, I'm very passionate about my beliefs. Thus, don't come into a fight, try to get involved, and then wonder why you got punched. That's my only reaction. What I don't like is when you ask a question, I tell you the answer, you don't agree with the answer as I have told you, I tell you to go look it up yourself then, and instead you just make up your mind based off your own personal "feelings". That's your right. But don't come up and try and make determinations about facts based on your gut instincts, if there's a debate involved. Anyone can say "No, that's not real" when presented a media article. The trick in their opinion holding any relevance is being able to produce something legitimate that contradicts it. Otherwise, it's just bias. Bias cannot be debated, as it's not objective.
