States rights. 39 others left for dykes to publicly declare their promise to scissor each other forever.

From my indications they're too busy using said lefty scissors to cut balls off of message board gods.

I came into this world covered in blood and screaming and I have no problem leaving.

Yes.

53732 more typos like this and I too will be unbannable among arachnids, or whatever they call it these days.

Defense of Marriage amendments are a preventive step to legalizing gay marriage. And likewise I would support Civil Union if the debate ended there.
But gay civil union is leverage, that leads to gay marriage, that leads to hate-crime laws that smother all dissenting speech and thought.

As demonstrated in Canada:
http://www.ignatiusinsight.com/features/mobrien_thoughtcrime_sept04.asp

Also, as with Proposition 8 in California, higher court judges have an annoying habit of overturning the will of the people, even when traditional marriage is codified into law, and gay marriage is soundly rejected.
It speaks volumes about how the public REALLY feels, when gay marriage is even rejected in a liberal utopia like California.
And volumes as well in the tyranny of the Left, to overturn that will by one elitist judge.

It just passed in MN and I doubt it would have a couple years ago. People's views are changing and it's not going to be a safe wedge issue for the republican party like it used to be.

Precisely because of a media bombardment of pro-gay propaganda.

Conservatives need to lay out a consistent counter-point opposition to the gay community's (and pro-gay media's) talking points. It is a victory of political correctness and propaganda, not the will of an informed public. For at least 30 years, the public has been hard-sold only the pro-gay perspective of this issue, and that bombardment requires pushback with facts from the other side. Gays are not winning on the facts, but by default in the absence of a counter-narrative.

  • from Do Racists have lower IQ's...

Liberals who bemoan discrimination, intolerance, restraint of Constitutional freedoms, and promotion of hatred toward various abberant minorities, have absolutely no problem with discriminating against, being intolerant of, restricting Constitutional freedoms of, and directing hate-filled scapegoat rhetoric against conservatives.

EXACTLY what they accuse Republicans/conservatives of doing, is EXACTLY what liberals/Democrats do themselves, to those who oppose their beliefs.

I doubt you really fool anybody with pretending to be a victim. Conservatives had plenty of resources and money they utilized over the years to keep gays from getting married. It was a popular wedge issue for Bush less than a decade ago. I'm guessing it's down to an updated southern strategy for your party when it comes to this issue.

I think it's great to see the two of you arguing about something different than what you usually argue about. I'm just surprised we haven't had any threads on gay marriage on this board earlier.
