The internet was fun? When you could raid a message board and, then if once too often, not be able to afford another banning?

Now it's mostly porn and ads before you can watch a youtube video....:( Even the porn is poorly made with no sense of the artistic...

I spend a lot of time on Facebook. Which is fine, but its very unfocussed in terms of interests.

Probably the main reason why I came back here, so I could talk about comics with people who are actually mildly interested in them, instead of feeling compelled to "like" another baby photo.

I wish my facebook was full of people posting baby pics. My home feed is full of scaremongers:

I also dropped my facebook.I know lots of people/agencies spy on everything going on over the internet, and I really have nothing to hide except my love of naked babes from the 70s and 80s....I just don't like when they admit they are spying....I like to at least make believe there is some semblance of civility and proper decorum in the world.

It's not the NSA, and Big Brother that bother me as much as the people selling my information so assholes can send me more ads.

But seriously. I find Facebook an incredible waste of time. People post photos, and people post comments like "oohhh" and "Beauttifffuuuul" and crap like that. With twitter and so forth, you have to limit your posts to 100 characters per post, and even then it's hard to have a coherent conversation like we do here on RKMB. I like RKMB because it is the most discussion-friendly forum I've found.
I wish more would stay here. I frankly don't know what draws them away to these other social media, when we've got a better thing right here!

I'm on Facebook 3-4 times a day. I have a lot of news feeds linking to it. So I can't knock it too much (although the constant unpublicised changes to privacy shit me).

Facebook is like reading the back of an over-sharer's Volvo. Most people's posts are the equivalent of inane bumper stickers and those window decals that are supposed to represent your family.
