I liked Liam Neeson in the movie Taken.

I had a good laugh when one of the cable stations ran it on Father's Day.
He was kind of the ultimate superdad, rescuing his daughter.

Taken 2 was just a contrived retread of the first movie.

Neeson was also in a phycho-drama Chloe, that I found interesting with a lot of unexpected twists. Good as much for Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried as Neeson.

His 2011 film Unknown had him playing a similar character, and was also interesting, but fell apart for me at the end.

My favorite Liam Neeson movies are the ones where he went by the screen name "Ralph Fiennes."

Yep I never got what was so funny about the first one. It was ok, as I say, but nowhere near the classic that some people seem to claim it was.

As for Galifinakis (I will take you word on how thats spelled cause I cant be arsed looking it up), only things I have liked with him have been voicing animations, and The Campaign, but that was only because of Will Ferrel. Even through that film he played the moronic retard who nobody could actually like.

Thin Ice.

Mostly pointless rambling without much of a point. Didn't finish it.

A Simple Plan.

It was mostly a predictable movie with a good cast.

I've been watching Fringe. I watched the first two seasons when they aired and then just lost the show in the shuffle. I started over and watched again. I'm starting to realize that I didn't miss much. It pretty much shits the bed in the third season, crushed under the weight of its own mythos. There are some good ideas that aren't well executed. The show just became dull and predictable.

The previews looked way too pretentious for me to even consider watching that series. They probably would have been more successful if they tried just emulating X-Files instead of attempting a 'Warehouse 13 meets X-Files' format.

......Speaking of which, I think it may be time for an X-Files marathon.

The first two seasons are very X-Files, which is why I liked it. Like the X-Files, the mythos became too great and consumed the show. Whereas it took the X-Files about five or six seasons to do that, Fringe does it after only two. Some shows just work better with a monster of the week format.

I liked it a helluva lot better than Origins. It was fun if not predictable. I kind of wonder how they're linking it to the Days of Future Past considering the mid-credits scene.

If you didn't even consider watching the series, how do you know anything about their story formats?

It was marketed as a synthesis of the two shows: a government organization solicits two agents (one being more skeptical than the other) and a doctor to work on top secret shit involving the paranormal with a quippy atmosphere (more quippy than X-Files at least). The pitch is less than appealing.

However different the show may have been from its ads, I feel justified in having avoided it for that reason.

Pausing X-Files to watch Louie.

Not that great. I ended up fast forwarding through all the Stand-up parts....and a lot of the acted out scenes. And a full episode about Jesus and Catholic guilt or whatever.

So it only took me less than three hours to get through season 1. The other two should be pretty speedy.

Aside from Episodes 6 and 7 of season three, this entire series is boring and forgettable. I would have much preferred that I never heard of Louis CK.

Back to X-Files.

Paused for Wilfred now.

It has its really funny moments, but the ratio of good comedy to toilet humor is way too imbalanced. That, and I dislike Elijah Wood

I admit though, I'm very curious about who or what Wilfred really is.
