I think that album is songs that INSPIRED F-911 not songs inspired BY F-911.

I wonder how they came up with that old man. Whoever did so is a marketing genius. An eccentric genius, but a genius none the less.
Anyway...

johnny cash - personal jesus
y'know, if llance remade a song into a sad melody, i think i'd like that, too. was never a huge fan of johnny cash, or depeche mode's "personal jesus" (tho i did like the latter a bit), but once this sadder, beaten old man takes hold of these songs (personal jesus, NIN's 'hurt, eagle's desperado), there's a whole different, haunting take.
i diggum.

With all due respect, I'm not sure Johnny Cash was sad or beaten when he recorded these songs.
He had been ill. However, he was still in the midst of his big comeback with Rick Rubin and they were all recorded before his wife June died.
