.
It's fun to joke around and say that's what he was arguing for.
But in truth, he's just saying the Left indoctrinates women to reject and have scorn for traditional female roles, like raising children and being stay-at-home moms, women who would otherwise would take pride in those roles if not indoctrinated oherwise. And have had pride in for all of human history, being wives and stay-at-home moms who make a priority of family and raising children.
And the loss of that is why population is declining in every Western country (as detailed in Pat Buchanan's book, DEATH OF THE WEST).
So... we NEED women who want to be at-home moms who raise children. And it's unnatural to have a civilization that increasingly doesn't want to reproduce and have children. We have a political Left that hates our nation, culture and history, and wants to destroy it, and replace it with non-white, non-European, non-Christians, who are instead cultural marxist environmentalist purple-haired vegan non-binary radicals, who will tear down every statue and historical monument of the people who built Western civilization.
All Butker was saying in his commencement speech is that men and women have had traditional roles for about 10,000 years of human civilization, and maybe we should appreciate and enjoy those roles, and men and women should appreciate each other, and appreciate the society that the Cultural Marxists are so eager to destroy. That maybe what we have is better than the leftist radical alternative, and we shouldn't just passively stand by and let it be destroyed. Or be intimidated to stand by.
I thought his speech presented this idea in a very inoffensive way, that doesn't deserve the backlash it's gotten.
Among other points made, he just, in a gentle way, called for men and women to appreciate each other and their traditional roles, and expressed love for his wife, who by enjoying her role at home raising children, allows him to accomplish more in his career outside the home.
It's a far cry from, say, Gavin McGinnis and his early "Proud Boys" movement (that kind of reminded me of the boys in the Little Rascals episode with the "Wimmen Haters Club"). Where he makes male-pig remarks to women on TV panel discussions, in an Andy Warhol-like way, that you're not sure if he's joking or serious.
But I guess in the age of cancel-culture any defense whatsoever of conservative raditional roles absolutely HAS to be intimidated and silenced.
