Trump’s popular vote not that huge“ Trump held a 1.7-point lead in the popular vote as of Monday morning, according to The New York Times. That is smaller than former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's 2.1 point popular vote win in 2016 and less than half of President Joe Biden's 4.5 point win in 2020.”
This gives some perspective on Trump’s win. It wasn’t all that huge particularly when you consider Clinton lost in 2016 but won the popular vote by a larger percentage than Trump did in this last election and less than half Biden’s in 2020.
