I just ran across this fan blog for CEREBUS and Dave Sim....

... and I was surprised that Ellison and Sim apparently crossed paths at a comics convention very early on, circa at least Dec1982, and across a least 3 blog entries, Ellison was a huge fan of the series from very early on, and in a letter to Sim says he bought every back issue he could find up to that point, up to issue 44 at that point. And in a shown letter by Ellison, he sent Dave Sim a bunch of signed copies of his short story collections, asking Sim in exchange to send Ellison the only CEREBUS issues he was still missing.

Plus many video blogs by Sim, including several devoted to Harlan Ellison. These are from 2018, shortly after Ellison's June 2018 death.

I was also surprised to see that Harlan Ellison's surviving wife, Susan Ellison, died in August 2020 about two years after Harlan.
And like Harlan, she died in her sleep in the same bedroom of a heart attack. Very weird, because she was only age 60. About 26 years younger than Harlan Ellison who died at age 84 (Harlan Born 1934, Susan born 1960) .
