what, the new dcmbs? they wont be processor intensive -- at least not noticeably moreso than the current dcmbs are. however, they're just... i dunno... awkward. it feels more like a step down, or a step sideways, rather than a step up.
a step up would be sticking with the current program the DCMBs uses -- infopop. the DCMBs now use infopop version 5.47. if they decided to stick with infopop, they'd be on 6.5, like we are here.
that would have provided soooo much more -- features that my boards provide, that you can all use here (like post-editing, the "headline" threads, custom titles, avatar images, even the "who's online" buddy list, etc, etc)
woulda, coulda, shoulda.
so, mebbe its time to put out the good towels, cuz i think a lot of old school DCMB posters would feel more comfortable here than they would on the new dcmbs.
