Michael Turner can't write. Brian Azzarello can't write other characters. I'll flip through for Bermejo art, though. I also hold partial allegiance to Kurt Busiek, so I might be tempted to look over whatever it is he's doing.

Doesn't look too thrilling, though. I guess I've just become tired of Superman....or, at least, Superman written poorly.

The real-world Supes mini looks good to me. I don't care about the main titles. Although the Akira/Light Cycle bike looks cool. But that's mostly thanks to computer coloring.

Turner is in the middle of litigation over Fathom. Top Cow have sued him: they probably have an injunction restraining him from working on Fathom until it goes to trial. i guess this is an alternative gig.

None of this does anything for me. It just looks like they're trying to re-mine the already depleted Superman mythos.

Really? I didn't know that. Thanks.

This was probably done, though, a few months ago while everything was still in play.

Turner's Flash looks cool. But again, most of the credit goes to the colorist.

Michael Turner must have spent his anatomy classes doodling rather than actually paying attention. What the fuck is with Flash's right leg? It's like he's suffering from malnourishment or something.

And there's the "huge hands, small head" thing Jim Lee does with Batman.

I didn't notice any of that until you pointed it out, and I had seen that cover several times. Your nitpicking is contagious!

Actually, I think that's partially a colorist error. The yellow around the leg makes it look thinner.

It's not smaller than the other, and it's not an error. It's a halo effect; light from the bolt behind. Not everything is supposed to be perfect. Although I must admit, the head is too small.

Out of all the work displayed in this thread, I still prefer Yu's... Immonen's second.

I see that it's yellow, but it still looks too small to me. The other knee is also disproportionate, but the right one is just hideously so.

Heh, Disco showed that cover to me a few weeks ago and when I pointed it out he said the same thing.

Precisely. There is nothing wrong with that picture, other than the typical Turner pinhead. In fact, I think its quite good.

It's very flashy. But as TK said, I think most of the credit goes to the colorist.

The only one of these that looks any good is the Birthright issue (which I'm glad to see was not canceled as rumored--at least Waid will get to finish this out and get his Superman jones out of the way). But the rest...yikes. This stuff reminds me once again why I've ditched DC like yesterday's newspaper. It's all gimmicky garbage.

Oh, well. There's better stuff out there. [biiiig grin]

It's not a new direction, it's just a three part arc before the new creative teams start.

It actually looks interesting to me. I am buying the Majestic story then this one. I don't know why but for some reason it looks like it might be good. I dunno
