quote: Hello everyone! The summer cons have come and gone: do you know where your comics accurate Mattel con-exclusive Batman is? Would you disappointed Batfans like something even cooler? Now is your chance to own a Batman figure that you always thought would be unattainable, and it's all for a good cause! Are you willing to take up the cause of right and battle the darkness? Well, as part of a shared exclusive between the Amazing Justice League of Julius Marx and Iron-Cow Productions, we are proud to announce the Iron Cow Production's Custom Neal Adams Batman Charity Giveaway contest! Up for grabs are not one, not two, but THREE original Neal Adams Batman customs as produced by Matt from Iron-Cow Productions. Each figure is a unique work of art and will come with customized packaging and a certificate of authenticity as well. And, due to the nature of the rules, it's one of those situations where everyone's a winner. Here's how it works: All you have to do to enter the contest is donate something to charity. Anything. It doesn't have to be cash; rather it could be clothes, toys, food, even your time (if it s for a good cause and you're not getting paid for it). Normally with charitable donations, you'll receive some sort of receipt for your records. Make a XEROXED COPY of this receipt and mail it in (you'll want to keep your original copy for tax purposes). Each donation receipt will count as an entry, so the more places you donate, the better your chances are of winning. We'll take up to 5 entries just to keep things sane on our part, but feel free to donate more. Or get your friends to enter as well. Now, don't get cheap and make 5 separate $1 donations to the Salvation Army, but if you drop off a batch of clothes one weekend, and then another batch the following weekend, then that should be fine. If you donate time down at a Senior Citizen's home, or help a neighbor (something that you re not getting paid for), then write down the details and we'll count that as an entry. Use your best judgment on this and you should be okay. Again, it's all about the spirit of giving. And if you are overseas, then email us a copy of your receipts and we can include you as well. Here's how to enter: On each xeroxed receipt, please include your name, email address, and phone number (optional) along with the estimated dollar amount of the donation. The dollar amount is so we'll be able to keep track of how much was raised. Don't send your original receipts! You'll need those for your tax records. You can mail all the entries together in the same envelope if you like, but make sure your information is on each entry. Mail each entry to: Neal Adams Batman Giveaway c/o Matt Cauley Iron-Cow Productions 7 Highpoint Cedar Grove, NY 07009 Three winners will be selected randomly from the entries received. One winner per household, please. All entries must be received by October 15th, though we reserve the right to extend it if there's a huge response. The three winners will be announced shortly thereafter. Any winner may give away their prize to a friend if they like, but the figure itself cannot be sold under any circumstances.. Thanks again, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask us. Matt Cauley and Daniel Pickett aka- Iron-Cow and Julius Marx

Maybe it's the picture, but it doesn't look like Neal Adams's version of Batman to me.
Especially the blue cape and cowl. If you look at Adams's work on the character, he always used a log of black shading and cross hatching on the cape and cowl. I would have preferred some way to capture that, maybe a special blue/black paint application.

I share your sentiments, but I'm not altogether sure there's a way to capture that without using solid black highlights a la DC Direct's Silver Age Batman. From a personal standpoint, I don't think that look would suit a Neal Adams Batman figure.
