whoakay, here we go. as started here. cap'ns:dave nowhereman(!) annie tk agents:rob - overall (bat family!) ttt - marvel i-man - dc others (if you wanna jump in later). captains each have 500 mil to bid with. you decide the starting amounts. each captain can have open bids on no more than 3 characters at one time. captains, in each of your posts, keep a running total of 1) what characters you currently own 2) what characters you're bidding on 3) how much money you have left questions / comments -- lemme know!

Can I bid against one of Annie's bids, and give the game some momentum, or am I confined to my 3?

you can bid on anyone you want, but you can only have 3 active character bids. so, if you'd like to counter bid on one of annie's picks, you'd have to withdraw one of your existing offers

batman scoffs are your offer. "you must be new," he adds.
oracle is enticed by your offer, but as her agent, i feel it best for her to ask what type of benefits you can offer? is 2 mil the best you can do?
tk nightwing is very interested in your offer, however, he's interested in seeing where his father and his girlfriend will be placed, first.

With no other bids on the board as yet, and no counter-offer, the $50m can sit tight as an open offer.
I would like a detective, but I'm not too fussed as to who I get.

Oracle is entirely subsidiary, and unless the offer is accepted in 24 hours, it will be withdrawn and not reiterated.

well, if it is agreed that I can be a cap'n by Rob...More people means less chance of a tie..hint...
In that instance I would bid on...
1) 25 Million...Scarlet Witch 2) 20 Million...The Vision 3) 30 million...Martian Manhunter

As TheTimeTrust is named the agent for the Marvel Comics characters, a collective groan and a shout of "We're screwed! We're SO screwed!" can be heard from the Avengers Mansion, the Fantastic Four building, the Xavier School for Gifted Children, and various other superhero domiciles.
I've got only a passing knowledge of the Marvel Universe (except for a few characters I know very well), but I'll give 'er a shot.
Dave
$10m for Iron Man
$10 million? That's pocket change to Tony Stark, my friend. Come back when you have a serious offer..
Animalman
$10 mil for Magneto
Magneto scoffs at the human race which spawned such a neophyte as yourself (his words, not mine). With a third X-Men movie immortalizing Magneto in the collective consciousness, he's waiting for a better bid. Sorry.
TK-069
65mil Jean Grey/Pheonix 12mil Nightcrawler
Finally! A serious bid. Jean likes your offer, but she wants to know where Cyclops will end up.
Nightcrawler BAMF'd away before I could ask him anything more about it, but I think he's interested. 15 million should clinch the deal.
Pig Iron
1) 25 Million...Scarlet Witch 2) 20 Million...The Vision
Scarlet Witch and the Vision's divorce lawyer has reluctantly accept your offer (they're still paying the bills).

Reached for comment in the 30th century, where he lives in retirement with his wife Iris, Mr. Allen is interested in your bid, Mr. Animalman, but is concerned about a return to heroism (with all its possibly Anti-Monitor-related death scenarios) for less than $25 million. He DOES have children, as well as a grandson with certain mental disabilitiews to keep in mind.
Mr. Jordan, on the other hand, is quite receptive of your offer, contingent upon his return to GL status in a new universe. His current employer, however, seems to be in faovr of keeping his current Spectre in employ, and is bound to try some hardball tactics to retain Mr. Jordan's services.
Mr. J'onzz likes the idea of $30 million, Mr. Iron, given the lack of commercial attention he has gotten prior to the current JL cartoon and comic. However, he would ask to recieve $5 of that sum immediately in Oreos.

$15 mil for Magneto(who's been dead for a bit in the comics, and it's the regular universe version that I'm looking to acquire, not the Ultimate version nor the movie version)
$20 mil for Hal Jordan(who's Spectre book is cancelled, making it unlikely that DC would try that hard to retain him)
$20 mil for Barry Allen(who has been inactive for nearly two decades)

Oracle is closed. Deal done.
I'll bid $195m for Batman, Rob. That's $100mil more than TK is offering.
$20m for Iron Man, TTT. That's a lot more than he'd get if he was part of a package deal with the Avengers.
Acquisition List:
Oracle
Current Bid List:
Batman - $195m Iron Man - $20m

deals are completed ONLY if all the criteria below are met:
1) a captain proposes an offer 2) an agent accepts that offer 3) at least 24 hours have passed after the agent's acceptance 4) no other captain made an offer during that 24 hour period
piggy, in your specific case, ttt and i-man accepted all three of your offers on september 16, just before 1 AM (EST). that is when the 24-hour clock started, so those deals are still in "the spotlight" until 9-17 at 1 AM.

tk and dave:
nightwing is currently being ofered 15.5 mil from tk. thus far, however, his girl was drafted by dave and his mentor received the best offer from dave (and is tempted to join those ranks). though this is a business and i urge him to follow the money (tk's), master grayson would like to know if dave has an offer?
batman has new faith in the lawyer-turned-captain. wanting to get this offer with quickly and efficiently, he accepts your offer. unless he receives other offers from other captains, this deal will become official 9-17, at 10:20 AM.

10.5mil for Ultimate Spider-Man
TK-069, my client is singlehandedly keeping Marvel Enterprises in business through these uncertain days, and he is the basis of popular movie and TV franchises. Moreover, my client is determined not to go for less than the overrated Batman. I must assume that the decimal point in your offer was a typo.
Thank you for your interest.

but, in an effort to move the game along, agents can cover for one another.

ttt's last comment on this was "Finally! A serious bid. Jean likes your offer, but she wants to know where Cyclops will end up."
which i dont think is an accepted offer, so i'm going to say she's not even in the spotlight thingie yet.
