anyone else watch this?
its on comedy central and pretty late (at least, thats when i catch it). its sorta like candid camera, i guess, except with lots and lots of caffeine.
each episode is a half hour of 20-30 second segments. its all these actors spoofing and joking and mocking real people, who aren't quite sure how to react. everything is very awkward to the real people, which is hysterical.
for example: there was a guy stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. he'd inch forward every 5 seconds, then stop. so, a cop (the actor guy) walks up to his window, taps on it, and says to the guy he can't stop here, cuz its a no stopping zone.
the driver is completely baffled, pointing to the cars infront of him. the cop says he'll let it go, but really the driver should be more careful.
so, the driver inches forward for about 8 seconds, and the cop starts to walk away. but then the driver has to stop again because of the car infront of him, and the cop double-takes, turns around, knocks again, and says "look, i just told you you can't stop here"
another example: a random guy is coming home from a day at the office, walking down a somewhat-empty street toward the subway area. suddenly, and for absolutely no reason, 2-300 people in full-size animal costumes (cows, bulls, dogs, rabbits) stream around the corner the man is approaching.
entirely freaked out, the man stops, trips, and starts bolting in the other direction, to avoid the stampede.
ok, so its not exactly the kinda stuff you'll laugh at when reading on a message board, but to watch, im frickin dying. outside of the simpsons and seinfeld, i dont remember recently laughing so much at a tv show.
watching people get frustrated or be confused or whatever is hillarious to me.
