anyone else watch this?

its on comedy central and pretty late (at least, thats when i catch it). its sorta like candid camera, i guess, except with lots and lots of caffeine.

each episode is a half hour of 20-30 second segments. its all these actors spoofing and joking and mocking real people, who aren't quite sure how to react. everything is very awkward to the real people, which is hysterical.

for example: there was a guy stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. he'd inch forward every 5 seconds, then stop. so, a cop (the actor guy) walks up to his window, taps on it, and says to the guy he can't stop here, cuz its a no stopping zone.

the driver is completely baffled, pointing to the cars infront of him. the cop says he'll let it go, but really the driver should be more careful.

so, the driver inches forward for about 8 seconds, and the cop starts to walk away. but then the driver has to stop again because of the car infront of him, and the cop double-takes, turns around, knocks again, and says "look, i just told you you can't stop here"

another example: a random guy is coming home from a day at the office, walking down a somewhat-empty street toward the subway area. suddenly, and for absolutely no reason, 2-300 people in full-size animal costumes (cows, bulls, dogs, rabbits) stream around the corner the man is approaching.

entirely freaked out, the man stops, trips, and starts bolting in the other direction, to avoid the stampede.

ok, so its not exactly the kinda stuff you'll laugh at when reading on a message board, but to watch, im frickin dying. outside of the simpsons and seinfeld, i dont remember recently laughing so much at a tv show.

watching people get frustrated or be confused or whatever is hillarious to me.

Trigger Happy TV has been great. Very funny.

Kinda sorta Tom Green but without the Tom Green "cringe factor"

My friend (who has seen the show) hasthis Nokia phone that makes the same ring that the guy uses for the phone gag. Every time it goes off when he is over I scream "Hello!".

Add that to my Stallone's Judge Dredd "I am the Law!" imression

The one short that got me laughing was Jerry Minor (y'know... the black dude) sitting down next to a girl in a restaurant, looking perfectly normal, and asks her for her number.

She says "No", and immediately Minor reveals his left hand made up as a hand puppet, complete with Muppet Eyes and miniature tie. "You got no game man! Here lemme try! Hey honey! Hey! Hey woman! Can I get your number?!"

The woman was so scared, she couldn't move!

I love this show. I agree in that I don't think I've had my side hurting from a TV show in a long time but every time I see Trigger Happy I get a side stitch.

I loved the one where he put a wheel-block on a wheelchair. :)

Trigger Happy TV is one of the only shows I still really like on Comedy Central ... pretty much it, South Park, and reruns of the Kids in the Hall, Strangers with Candy and Black Books. THTV has this surrealness I like ... the usual lack of a lot of dialogue is something I also enjoy ... nice to see something on TV that you really do have to "watch".

Of course, none of them compare to the Upright Citizens Brigade, but you can't follow that show.

Dom Jolly makes that show funny.

There's a new batch of episodes on Comedy Central, with different actors, and it's nowhere near as funny as the episodes with just Jolly (that's looks weird writing that...)
