This is supposed to be the "untold story" of Squadron Supreme, who are non-subtle knock-offs of the five core JLA members.

At any rate, I thought it was a great first issue. I'll definitely continue picking this book up.

Squadron Supreme was great.

I enjoyed this new book as well.

The fucking in the basement made me wonder what goes on off panel in Smallville... heh.

I didn't know the comic allready had a history. I just thought Marvel was doing an obvious copy of Superman. I'll see if I can find some back issues of Squadron Supreme.

To the best of my knowledge, they've never had a book of their own, but have been featured in other places. Not too sure where, though. A little help, anyone?

There was a 12 issue maxi-series, which has been collected as a tpb.

There was at least one other series after that, though.

I thought I had read somewhere that this would be the team's first on-going series. True or false?

This is actually going to be new versions of the characters, not connected to any of the other series.

But you should definitely get the tpb of the original series, by Gruenwald. Some really good stuff that influenced a lot of later books, most notably Kingdom Come.

I liked this a lot. A whole lot better than Alan Moore's TERRA OBSCURA...

True, but efforts to give the Squadron an ongoing pre-date Quesada's tenure as EiC.

A Marvel editorial around the time of the Squadron's apperance in Avengers during Busiek's and Perez' run said that there was going to be a new Squadron Supreme ongoing soon.

He's exclusive to Marvel, so he might not, at all.

His Marvel "exclusive" contract probably does allow him to work on his creator owned works.

Just like Marvel "Exclusive" Brian Bendis still does Powers.
