From international artists, only Eric Clapton. And it was a couple of years ago so he was very old. But still, he rocked.

Isn't the band being sued by some fans for just that? Stapp being too out of it to perform.

The Sterophonics are the only band I have been to see specifically, see lots of others at university events though.

Wanted to go see less than Jake recently in Southampton but the buggers sold out.

Warren Zevon.

Damn.

He's the best.

I've seen in everywhere from small clubs in Rochester, NY (where we sat three feet from the stage) to the Beacon Theater in New York City.

He never failed to impress.

Hard to believe that he's literally a dead man walking.

A shitload of guys and bands you've never heard of and probably never will.
They Might Be Giants (Who surprisingly kick ass in concert.)
Willie Nelson
ZZTop
Cowboy Mouth (Played at a festival in my home town before that one hit of their's, where they sucked ass, and right after Willie at another festival. We left after Willie walked off the stage.)
BB King
In a moment of weakness I tried to win a girl over by taking her to a Richard Marx concert. She loved the concert but didn't want to go out again. Puberty fucking sucks.

Yothu Yindi was the name of the band opening for them, I'd guess.

The Oils are great live. I've been to 4 Midnight Oil concerts over the years.

Forgot to mention:

Hunters and Collectors
Big Pig (anyone other than Pig Iron remember them?)
Weddings, Parties, Anything
Hoodoo Gurus, twice
Vibes on a Summers Day, with a whole heap of famous DJs
The Avalanches

Nearly saw Lenny Kravitz in Paris, but my friend balked on the price of a ticket. A few weeks later, nearly saw Garbage in Lisbon, but the same friend wanted to leave Lisbon because of girl problems. Still cross about it!

Off the top of my head, in no order really:

R.E.M x 3
Brian Wilson (playing Pet Sounds in order)
The Smithereens x 2
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones too many times to count
Guadalcanal Diary x 2
Drivin n Cryin, also Kevn Kinney solo w/Peter Buck
The Monkees x 2!
John Mellencamp
The Indigo Girls
Neil Young with Crazy Horse
Ben Folds Five x 3
Cracker x 2
ZZ Top
A couple of Lollapaloozas (Sonic Youth, Beastie Boys and Hole among others)
Sugar x 2 or 3
Bob Mould solo acoustic x 2
They Might Be Giants x 3
U2
Suzanne Vega
Some festival with Midnight Oil and Ziggy Marley
The Pixies
Jimmy Buffet x 2
The B-52's, on Halloween no less.
Joe Jackson x 2
The Beat Farmers (probably the most ass-kickingest show I've ever seen)
Billy Joel
James Brown at a festival, possibly the worst thing I've ever seen
The Rolling Stones, sorta (way up on a hill looking through the gaps in the stadium at Grant Field at Georgia Tech)
Does The Kids In The Hall live count?
Lots of local and smaller acts.

I used to work with an older guy that had a good bar band called Ben Dover and the Tennessee Tucker band, and he'd let me sit in for a few songs when I'd go see 'em. I nearly wet my pants every time just strumming along to the easiest stuff on earth in front of 20 half-interested drunks. i am a rock god.

Yeah, he was sick or some crap like that. Stapp had the crowd booing him cause he kept laying down while singing and dancing around like a damn fool. Oh well, I could get my money back. Creed's poorness made Local H (who opened) look awesome.

awww...shit. Going to concets is ALL i pretty much do. I think i've been to well over 1000 gigs since 85, so memeory's kind of fuzzy. Name a indie, punk, alternative, or 80's band and most likely I've seen them. I've probably forgotten most of the shows I've been to as well but I go to at least 1 gig a month (since about 85 like I said). This list isn't really counting multiple times I've seen a band. JAMC, the Bunnymen, Travis and U2 probably comprise the most often attended bands I've seen.

I'm going to have to cheat here because there's no way I'm going to remeber all the concerts I've been to. Mainly because I spent my early 20's going to several concerts a year and the cool thing about that was I was seeing a lot of the big name Christian artists when they were playing smaller venues/opening acts so I got to see a lot of concerts/groups cheaper than their newer fans have. hehehe You probably haven't heard of most of these because they're Christian artists, but I have gone to 2 mainstream concerts. I'll only say one of them though because I refuse to say what the other one was.

For the most part this is in the order that I saw them:

Amy Grant
Madonna
Petra
Petra/Mike Singletary (guest speaker)
DC Talk/Newsboys
Michael W. Smith/Dc Talk (opened for MWS)
the Choir and the Throes with John Austin
Young Messiah Tour ('93)
DC Talk/Audio Adrenaline (opened for DCT)
Newsboys and Audio Adrenaline (Audio A opened)
77's
Dakoda Motor Company/Johnny Q. Public/Hoi Pplloi
Crashdog and Strongarm
DC Talk/Christifari (opened for DCT)
Michael W. Smith/Jars of Clay/Three Crosses
MXPX and Blenderhead
DC Talk
World Fest II (saw most of the performers including Rich Mullins, who died a year later) Micheal W. Smith and DC Talk were headliners that year
Jars of Clay/Sarah John (she opened)
Jars of Clay/Plumb (the band not singer)
Audio Adrenaline/the Supertones (the Supertones opened and were great, lots of engery)
Worldfest 4 featuring the E.R.A.C.E. tour. (I have some great pictures of that day)
DC Talk/Jennifer Knapp and the W's (I went to the Dr that morning and found out I had mono and toncilitis, I still went to the concert)
the Waiting/Chasing Furies (Chasing Furies opened)
Michael W. Smith/Tait Band (Micael Tait of DC Talk for his solo project)
DC Talk/Toby Mac/Kevin Max/Tait (they did what Kiss did when they released solo albums toured as a group supporting/promoting each other and their albums)

I've also been to a metal/thrash fest don't remember the name of it though. It was 6 hours/6 bands of way too loud music for too small a venue (for the volume that is). They had the volume on the mics too low so you couldn't hear the singers. I will never do that again, I know I damaged my hearing that day.

I'm sure I've forgotten a concert or 2 along the line.

As to what I've seen, far to many to list. Most of the classic rock acts (rock, not pop), southern rock, and the heavy metal acts from the late 70's - late 90's. Haven't been to as many "big" shows in the last 6 years. Excessive crowd control takes the fun out. Hit the club circuit acts for bands I really want to see live.

Here's a sampling, some highlights/memorable moments:

Eric Clapton & Friends (Muddy Watters/Delaney & Bonnie). 1st concert, only $6.50 at Capital Center.

Stones - 12 times, every tour since '81. Nobody does it better.

New Barbarians - basically the Stones w/o Mick. Tour was a result of Keith's herion bust in Canada.

BOC - 30-40 times (one loses count), got lots of autographs, picks, sticks & other cherished mementoes.

BOC/Black Sabbath - Black & Blue tour (twice), wanted to see each as the headliner. Both rocked. Seen Sabbath a few other times w/Dio, never w/OZZY.

OZZY solo - 3 times. Was standing in line for tickets in DC when the plane crashed into the bridge. This is the crash that got Howard Stern in trouble when he cracked a joke.

Motorhead - at a bar in Balt, MD called Coast to Coast. Met Lemmy & Philthy, got autographs, picks & sticks, shared beers. Cool guys. (Robbo hid out backstage). They wouldn't stop playing after last call. Bar manager pulled the plug, Lemmy bitched & said he'd like to continue, but.....mgmt ran us out anyway. About started a riot, manic fans throwing beer bottles at the bar (from the parking lot). Many cops later, everyone went home. Seen 'em several times, but this was the best.

Juice Newton - at Kings Dominion, my oddest concert. She looked cute in the cut-offs & cowboy boots though.

Jerry Lee Lewis - at Charleston racetrack (horses, West VA.)

Lou Reed - Warner theater, got picks

Adrian Belew (the Bears) - 9:30 club, got picks

Stevie Ray Vaughan - at DAR Hall, Couldn't Stand the Weather tour.

Judas Priest - many times, 1st was at a bar in VA called the Place Where Louie Dwells/Louie's Rock City. I think it was the Hell Bent for Leather tour.

Iron Maiden - many times, the two tours opening for Priest were classic.

Neil Young - JMU campus, during his "rockabilly phase". Seen him 6 or 7 other times.

Jimmy Buffett - 5 or 6 times. Music sucks, but cool parking lot parties. Makes the girls horny, go figure.

George Thorogood - quite a few times, always a good party.

UFO with AC/DC - Micheal Schenker's unbelievable & we all know AC boogies down.

Aerosmith - Rocks tour. Totally sucked, unfortunately. Tyler was wasted, sound was distorted.

Rush - 3 times, late 70's - early 80's.

Nugent - several times, always throws a good party.

Sammy Hagar (pre-Halen) - several times. The Red Rocker always throws a good party too.

Journey/Sammy Hagar/Tubes/John Cougar/Bryan Adams @ JFK - strangest line up I ever saw. Sammy blew 'em all away of course.

Van Halen - Fair Warning tour (best album IMO) and a couple times with Sammy.

Lia Ford - a bar in VA called Jaxx. What a hottie. Good guitar player too.

Well, I've probably bored you enough. Cheers!
