Did anybody pick up anything cool? Any mags you've never seen before that turn out to be worth a damn.

Took my girlfriend's kids to the shop I didnt see anything I would have been interested in that I didnt get...
Although the Batman issue seemed to be a new one...was it?
I grabbed the free Hulk Hero Click for my brother who was out of town.

You'll have to excuse my bragging but.....

You know the difference between my free comics and your free comics? Mine were signed by people who worked on the comics and yours weren't.

I got the Hulk Heroclix thing, too.

The Frank Miller's Robocop preview thing was neat.
As was the new Batman Animated book and the Slave Labor Graphics book.

The shops I went to didn't have the Hulk Heroclix, but I got every single free comic.

I got many of them... as I paid for the not-free comics, I noticed the sign "Please, only 5 free comics per customer." And the owner actually bagged the free comics I had... so either he thinks I'm a loyal customer (which I am), or mentally retarded. I'd assume the latter...

The Star Wars one (which I got mainly because I thought a friend might like it) was half a comic on flimsy paper. And okay, free, whaddya expect, but compared to the others it didn't quite measure up.

The Slave Labour one was damn cool.

The Avatar one was a booklet full of ads. Seriously. Screw them.

And a couple of stores I went to didn't have the whole selection, just a few I couldn't give a damn about and some excess from last year. So I got the Templeton Justice League Adventures. Which was kinda neat.

Errm.... there wasn't a SW free comic this year...

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it to the store for FCBD 2. I don't know what I'm going to do. I really wanted Batman Adventures and Rocket Comics: Ignite.

Rocket Comics was ok.

I'd say the best were Slave Labor's and CG's Way of the Rat.

Bastards. You would think that putting out projects with names like Moore, Ellis, Ennis, and Miller that they would at least try.

My mistake. I took it for a new one.

The comic book store I went to had bags of eight comics apiece they were handing out, which was pretty cool. Everyone got an assortment of FCBD comics and old comics that they were having trouble pushing on customers. I got the following:

Batman Adventures #1 (DC)
Harley Quinn #2 (DC)
Leave it to Chance (Image)
Slave Labor Stories (SLG)
Superman: The 10-cent Adventure (DC)
Ultimate Marvel Team-Up #10 (Marvel)
Ultimate X-Men #1 (Marvel)
Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Bone Gnawers (Moonstone)

My store had every free comic spread out on a table, bagged and boarded. I got Batman Adventures, Archie (the nieces might like it), Ultimate X-Men, Transformers, and a few of the indies.

Ok, I found some of the free comics (from DC, Marvel, Future, DW, and Dark Horse) and what really surprised me was Future's Metallix. It was really good. I'm thinking of adding it to my pull list. Beyond that, Batman Adventures #1 was good as expected, and I'm interested in Keith Giffen's "Syn" from DH.

Hey.. what was up with Ultimate X-Men 1? It was missing like 6 pages that were in the first one orginally. (the pages with the members being recruited) Wass that all about?
