I'm not much of a mainstream DCU reader, but I love Vertigo and some of the Wildstorm stuff.

I've noticed that increasingly there isn't much of a difference between the two imprints. Y: The Last Man may as well be a Wildstorm title: Planetary and most of the ABC line could easily be Vertigo titles.

Any preferences of Vertigo over Wildstorm or vice versa?

Right now, Wildstorm. Wildcats and Sleeper are two of my favorite reads currently. Also LOEG when it hits the stands, and hopefully soon Planetary.

As opposed to the only Vertigo book I read: 100 Bullets.

I tend to judge Vertigo against itself, and in my view there is very little of their output that's of the standards of the pre-and early-era Vertigo titles. Vertigo should be leading the trends and making new ones, as opposed to just following them. I don't see them doing that anymore.

Vertigo, if only because of the infrequency of Planetary and the ABC books.

Sleeper, Global Frequency and Automatic Kafka are decent books, but I love Y The Last Man, Vertigo Pop London and Vertigo Pop Bangkok. Filth is also somewhat interesting, and I read Lucifer in trades. Hellblazer I'm still on the fence with.

I think Wildstorm's struck out with the revamps. The oneshots, backstories and first issue of Authority volume 2 have been terrible, I really disliked the first few issue of Stormwatch: Team Achilles, and Wildcats 3.0 suffers from a lot of the same problems volume 2 did; interesting concept but poor execution and sluggish plot and character development.

I think I'd like Wildstorm more if not for the fact it seems to be used as a repository for non-DCU superheroics. Vertigo tends to get away from that more. I'm sure the deliniation is intentional, but still, I don't like it much.

I don't see any resemblance between Vertigo and ABC. ABC is like the opposite, I think.

Throw me into the Vertigo camp. Mainly because of Wildstorm's infrequentness.

Though also cause I think Vertigo has more "classics" behind it. Sandman, Preacher, ect.

Which one has Lucifer? Vertigo? That's the one for me then.

Can't argue with logic like that. Lucifer is definitally a classic in the making. I look forward to seeing a whole "Lucifer Library" oneday

Hmm. I remember reading the first 2 issues of Lucifer and hating it. But it looks like it has vastly improved since then. I think I will check out the TPBs.

Its the only comic I'll buy in non-tpb form. The first three-issue arc in the on-going series was terrible - even the writer, Mike Carey, says he would have done them differently.

But from issue 4 onwards, its been extraordinary. Great - clever - dialogue, epic plotting, fine characterisation.... The best comic on the market today.

I liked "The Authority: Kev" by Ennis and Fabry, but the new first issue is pretty bad.

Even as a big fan of Ennis, I didn't care much for KEV. I thought the panel where the Authority use the Eifel Tower to probe the rectal cavity of the alien spaceship was funny...but that's about it. I dunno. Just didn't make me laugh much.
