here is a link to some of the auctions i currently have up.

here's the super secret bonus deal: if any of you, my loyal RKMB posters ends up winning the auction, i'll cut the winning price in half (s/h stays the same).

50% off aint too shabby!

Probably about US$10-15. Shipping is a bitch. I'll probably get you to send it straight to Australia since we're heading home in a few months.

Alright, placed a bid on the Huge DC Lot. I really need those issues of the Legion for a friend in Peru. I've gotten #'s 1-13 ready to ship to him so I'll wait and see how this turns out. Maybe he can be up-to-date with his Legion books for once.

I'm just in shock that he's getting rid of HERO. I mean Rob...that is a great ass book and really should not be on the same level as Big Daddy Danger or Forever Maelstrom.

And LL....how much do you want that Big Lot of DCs? Im thinking about bidding on it also, cause I want those Legions as well. And the rest might make for some reading now and then.

So....hmmm...should I outbid you? Hmmmm.

Oh LL. I could outbid you if I truely wanted to. But....while for about ten seconds I'd be dancing and lording over you going "I kicked your ass BEOTCH!!" It wouldnt take long for me to realize I just payed way way too much for them and then I'd realize you really beat me by making me think I had to beat you.

So...ummmm pretty sure Im rambling now, maybe even babbling.

At the end of the day. I dunno yet. I'd really like some of those comics, but probably outa save the money.

The lots may be just a bit too large to be easily digested by bidders, such as that "big DC lot," which has quite a variety. Then again, -I've- had trouble shedding duplicates or unwanted side items from eBay lots, unless I give them away -- and that doesn't always work. So I may be affected by that.

Lash LaRue has noted on the Old Boards that a sizable run under one creator (or team) on a book is pretty much the optimal eBay lot: not too short as to take up excess overhead in listing or bidding, not too huge as to take in clearly unrelated items.

I fear that some of these runs are a bit short for that purpose. Selling several of them as a larger lot increases the chances of some run lying outside one's interest.

O'course, if Rob is primarily wanting to get these out of his condo, that's another story. And his 50 percent RKMB discount is remarkably generous.

Oh, and last-second bids -- known as "sniping" -- always give you buyer's remorse, whapping yourself with dead fish for days about paying too much. If you must do this, reserve it for unique items, such as pieces of original comic art. Not mass-produced items, such as the printed books. You'll feel better, trust me.

Damn, some nice stuff listed on there, Rob.

I wish I had a little more money. That big lot is tempting, but I'd really like the Johns stuff.

I'm a bit leery about putting my debit info up just to get registered, though. Has anyone had any problems with others getting access to that info?

Tell you what Jack. If I get the winning bid, you can have dibs on any of the comics except the Legion ones. I'll send them to you just for the cost of shipping. I like some of the other titles listed but I'm really just after those Legion issues for my friend.

Really? Wow LL that is really generious of you. I'll stop saying all that bad stuff about you....well in front of you. I'll just say it behind your back from now on. :)

I was really looking at those Legions, but if something else on there catches my eye I think I wont bid at all, hope you get it, and then beg for that something else. Cause I mean...come on. Big Daddy Danger. Everybody should own some of those. :)

When you register, it says you need to put up credit or debit card info. I am thinking it may be as a security measure (or as a way to prevent defaults on bidding). They claim that no one has access to that info, but I just wondered if that was just talk.

If you don't want to put that info up, you can list a seecond e-mail address, but it has to be one from an ISP or a company. I tried my Yahoo addy, but that wouldn't cut it.

So I'm tempted to bid on some of Rob's stuff, but I'm not keen on this apsect of the registration process.

I would bid on the Aquaman lot,Rob, but I don't wanna register at ebay.

If you want and if no one bids on it I'd be happy to make an arrangement to purchase 'em directly from you.

BTW,Thanks fer the new avatar! [biiiig grin]

I'm probably going to bid on everything except for the Generations, the Vertigo, and the re-printed classics.

The only reason I want the Wildstorm lot is for Brubaker's Sleeper.

Alright, I'm going to bid on the Aquaman lot, Superman lot, and DCU lot. I can't stay on till 11:00 so I'm mad. [DOH!] I just have to do a high maximum bid then. [...rassamnfrackin...]

EDIT: All right, I'm out for the night. I'm the current high bidder on the three I mentioned above. Rob - in case I win anything, I'm "raeroberts".

Oh well, I still have Aquaman and Superman. [nyah hah]

I'll contact you tomorrow Rob. I get the 50% off, right? [who, me?]

Do you accept cashier's checks? Or no?

Hey Woodstock. Watch who you are calling a loser. You never know when it might be someone else on these boards.

I said days ago on this thread that lot of DCU was mine. I never place my top bid to begin. If someone outbids me on an item early on, I always wait until the last minute to place what would be my highest bid. Sorry you didn't get the lot but I needed those Legions and I'm not sorry for that.

3. the entire Transmet tpb collection, mint condition;

4. Transmet tpb #1 (I have a double copy), mint condition;

5. a big WW lot, including most of the Perez issues and two of the tpbs (condition is various);

6. Invisibles tpb #1, mint condition;

7. most of the early Witchblade issues, in very good condition

send me a PM, I'll give you more details, and we'll see what we can do.

Well, for my first foray into e-Bay, I didn't do too badly.

It would have been nice to have that big DC lot, but I really wanted that JSA lot. So I cannot complain.

HCs? Well, in the immortal words of Arte Johnson, verrrrrry interestink.... :)

Wow, I didn't actually mean the "looosssseerrrr" thing. I was just joking. That's why I repeated letters. [nyah hah] If I was seriously mad about not getting it, I wouldn't be calling anybody a loser. [wink] But hey, if you don't want any of the lot besides Legion...

Oh, and Dave - I'm mildly interested in Virtue & Vice. What is the price you're going to put on it?

I dunno. US$10? You'd be better off buying more than one though because shipping from HK will be about US$15.

Sorry. Lack of sleep + lack of food + just not feeling good = short temper. My apologies. And JacktheKnife has first dibs on items from the lot (except the Legions). But if he leaves anything, I'll give you the same deal. Just shipping charges.
