Name: TD Location: US Occupation: Debutante, dilettante
Same screen name at old and new DCMBs. Well, maybe a few other screen names too.
Regarding me and the Legion ~ I'm easily the least-dedicated Legion person here. I wound up at the old DC Legion board on a whim 18 months ago and wound up staying until the end. Go figure.
Favorite Legionnaires: when I first started reading appx. 20 years ago: DREAM GIRL & Queen Projectra Favorites now: Nura and Projectra still (even though they're not the same) as well as Lu, Lydda, and Drura. (A mix of all eras for all five.) And there was something about Adventure-era Imra.... Favorite issues: not really sure. There was something about the LSV War. And so many of the Adventure issues were charming.... First Legion issue read: not sure. Probbaly something from the early 80s or late 70s (I was buying from the 10 cent box).
Favorite era: I'll pass on that, because there are some I haven't read. But the Adventure books were a joy, and I liked how Levitz handled such a big cast. I haven't read much of the 5YL, but I really like that they were allowed to change.
Best thing about the Legion: almost limitless source of puns.

Favorite non-Legion comics: Starlin's WARLOCK, Nightwing, Birds of Prey, Promethea Other hobbies/collections/etc: Marvin the Martian, Dragons

Name: Scott Location: Happy Valley, USA (known to mortals as Utah) Age: 37 Occupation: Business Technology Supervisor
Favorite Legionnaires: Has always been Garth. Condo was another favorite that I wish had gotten more of a story reboot. Blok and Sun Boy are a couple of other favs.
First LSH issue read: If I remember the issue # correctly it was Superboy #210, Soljer's Private War. The issue came out right after my father passed away. My first real exposure to comics outside of Archie (that I can remember) and my first exposure to Mike Grell. He quickly became one of my favorite astists.
Favorite issue/arc/era: Fav issue is hard. I'm all pre-boot although The Legion has been great, mostly, so far. A Cold and Lonely Corner of Hell would have to be my favorite stand alone issue. Great characterization and a perfect prelude to my favorite arc, The Great Darkness. Era would be pre-boot by far. Before the Garth is Proty crap.
Favorite writers/artists/etc: Lightle and Levitz are tops in my book. The Giffen/Levitz team probably holds the most memories for me. Cockrum, Starlin, Grell, Swan, Siegel, Shooter, hell just about all the creators at one time or another have been a favorite.
Favorite Legion memory (either story-based or your experiences/reactions/revelations/etc. regarding the book): The early 80's, my mid to late teen years. The Legionnaires were being allowed to grow up as I was. They were a big part of my life back then
Favorite non-Legion comics: Currently Batman (I've like Hush so far), LoEG, Exiles and the Ultimate titles, although I haven't actually read the Ultimate Spider-Man for quite awhile. Just still picking up the title out of habit. During the Legion's heyday of the 80's it was The Teen Titans, X-Men, Warlord, Dreadstar. Others that have faded in memory.
Other hobbies/collections/etc: Web design (sorry I'm a geek at heart), HeroClix, DnD. My wife and I collect vampire books, have over 1,000 of the things stuffed in bookcases in the bedroom.

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Age: 45 Occupation: Grocery
Former DCMB screen name (if different)
Favorite Legionnaires: Cosmic Boy, Mon-el, Shadow Lass
First LSH issue read: Could have been Adventure 267, 290 or 318 When I was 5 I was given a box of coverless that included all 3 of those issues. The 1st one I bought was Adventure 367.
Favorite issue/arc/era: The 1st Levitz era with the double size issues.
Favorite writers/artists/etc: Artist Curt Swan, Dave Cockrum, Jim Sherman, Kieth Giffen & Steve Lightle. Writers Jim Shooter, Paul Levitz, Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning.
Favorite Legion memory: Spotting an issue of the Legion reprint book on the newsstand way back in 1972. Even though it was a reprint it was still a Legion book.
Least Favorite Legion memory: Buying a copy of Adventure 381 only to find out that the LSH was kicked out.
Favorite non-Legion comics: Silver Age Superman, Jimmy Olsen, Curt Swan World's Finest stories, Kaluta's Carson of Venus, Dinosaur stories from Star Spangled War Stories.
Other hobbies/collections/etc: Slotcars, Wargames, Military history

YO horn dawgs! The internet community calls me MLLASH but you can all me Michael... or Lash, whatever...
First LEGION experience: S/LSH # 205, which probably prompted my love affair with MINOR Legion characters as Lana Lang-- INSECT QUEEN-- Legion Reservist-- is heavily featured in that issue ("The Legion of Super-Executioners!") I also found myself captivated by the Shooter/Swan reprint in that issue!
And the MIKE GRELL sideburns on Ultra Boy and Karate Kid... well, FORGET it-- THEY sure didn't hurt my odds of becoming a life-long LEGION fan.
It should be noted here that I flirted with Speedy the Smackhead LONG ago on the old DCMB.

Name: Duplicate Man Secret ID: Allan, but SHH, don't tell anyone. Age: 42, unless I get rebooted into a teen like the Legion did. With my luck I'd probably just turn to a snake. Job when I'm in the 21st century: Computer Programmer. First issue bought: Superboy/LSH #205. I'd read a couple of issues before that, but that was the first I bought with my own money.

Favorite Legionnaires: WILDFIRE!! (Ultra Boy and Ferro are cool too...) First LSH issue read: I don't remember exactly, but I always remembered the image of WILDFIRE blasting himself out of his suit through his faceplate. Favorite issue/arc/era: "Great Darkness Saga" was awesome and I loved TMK. Favorite writers/artists/etc: Levitz, Giffen, DnA, Sprouse, Coipel Favorite Legion memory (either story-based or your experiences/reactions/revelations/etc. regarding the book): The time I was first getting into the Legion when TMK came out and digging through back issue bins to buy up all the Legion stuff I could find.

Who am I? That's a very interesting question, but I don't have an interesting answer.
Don't remember my first Legion story - it was way back in the mid-60s, though. Mordru the Merciless maybe?
Favorite character: Brainiac 5, any version. Here's to all the high school nerds who never got the girl (or guy).
Favorite era: early TMK (please don't throw rotten tomatoes - they will clog up my keyboard). Current series is closing in fast, however.
No occupation. I dropped off the fast track to the slow track to no track.
Besides Legion, I read a lot of indies. Not as many as I'd like, because I have to pay for them. I am not really fat. Well, maybe a few pounds... but, hey - it was winter, and I didn't get out much and ....
This is my century post :) Funny hats all around! Blow out the candles!

Hey there gang!
C.J. here, tho' most folks just call me CJ. On other boards I've gone by the name Scout, and the ultra mysterious CJTaylor. I do inventory and quality control (yawn) for a metal shop here in the frozen tundra that is Minnesota. If I'm not reading, I'm checking out some local band, or climbing something. Finally made it over here, and I like seeing you folks cut lose now. It's a blast!
Legion fan since: DnA took over the book. But I'm enjoying a very slow journey back through the history of these super kids. Widening Rifts and Legion Lost are DnA's best comic work to date.
Fav creators: DnA, with Olivier as the artist. I'v enjoyed Walker's fill-in's, and think Andy should ink him regularly. Batista is good too, tho' I'm waiting to see his take on Chuck.
Fav Legionairres: Chuck, Star Boy, Umbra, Apparition (tho' call her Phase)
Legionairre I most look like : Brainy, tho' more by his annoying traits than by his cute looks.

I guess I'll finally get around to filling this out... Name: Gary Location: San Diego, CA (originally from Indiana) stationed here as a Marine and fell in love with the place. Age: 32 (just turned!) Occupation: Manager of a gay bar named Shooterz (trivia note - Omega Matt once played pool there) Former DCMB screen name (if different): I joined the DCMB as GLC back in '99, but due to a technical glitch had to rejoin as Nightcrawler. Later I used Nighty as my Legion name and posted everywhere else as GLC. Favorite Legionnaires: Invisible Kid, Sun Boy, Polar Boy, Karate Kid I & II, (heck all of them, really). First LSH issue read: SUPERBOY & LSH #213 Favorite issue/arc/era: The Adventure stories have a special place in my heart. Favorite writers/artists/etc: Too many to list...Cockrum, early Giffen, Lightle, Levitz, Swan, Shooter, etc. Favorite Legion memory (either story-based or your experiences/reactions/revelations/etc. regarding the book): Tough one...Great Darkness Saga. It's what started my fanatic devotion to all things Legion. Favorite non-Legion comics: Currently on the market...Power Company ![[sad]](images/icons/frown.gif) , JSA, Spider-Girl, JLA, Avengers, Astro City, Men of Mystery/America's Greatest Comics, DC Archives, etc. Other hobbies/collections/etc: Action figures & posting on messageboards. ![[wink]](images/icons/wink.gif)

Well, I joined so I guess I'd better start posting.
Keeping this short ~ My real name is Candace, which means Candlelight in Greek, so that's how my original user name started. It ended up Shadowplay in Candlelight (way too long a story). Somebody borrowed my ending DC/yahoo handle here, so now I'm just Shadowplay, which is kind of funny, in a way.
Tasmia is my historically favorite Legionnaire and I like her best as Umbra. Gates and Brainy are my favorite post-boot Legionnaires, after Umbra, or maybe before her, I can't decide, at the moment. Nura and Brin are getting to be high on my list, too, which is interesting to me, since I alway found them so low as to not be ON my list, pre-boot. I've really enjoyed most of DOA's run. I liked the early Swan stories(the silly things, no science at all!) and a lot of the Levitz, Lightle and early TMK stories.
I just love the Legion in most of it's many incarnations.
Glad to see ya'll here.
Shady

Hey Peg. If I can ever find out what happened to my webhost (who seems to have disappeared) or I find a new one to replace it, I'd be happy to give you a place to showcase your customs. You can see my temporary site (actually my old URL that expires this month) at Lightning Lad's Legion.
