I kinda like "Teeds" for TD.

It's spunky and sassy, like her!

I kinda like 'Calam' for Eryk, but I'm also fond of the EDE nickname. Maybe I should just go with Clam for short for Calam?

What's your middle initial, Matt? We could call you M_K, to fit JFK and RFK!

Oooooh, I like that for a nickname, I like that a lot. I say we decide here and now that Matt's middle name is Franklin and we don't believe any lies we might be told to that say we're wrong.

Some more nicknames:

Eryk could be Clam King.

TD could be Thrifty (though Teeds is kinda nice, too).

MLLASH could be Millie Ash.

Fat Cramer could be Skinny.

Beardguy could be ZZ Top.

Stuey could be Chewie.

Labradorian could be Lap Matador. (And no, Labby, that's not a gay reference!)

Steve Lightle could be The Light That Leads the Way.

Dave Cockrum ... nah, too easy.

I'd agree with that, but you know we'd all be talking at once... and then somebody would accidentally be holding down the talk button while chatting with the phone sex operator they believe loves them. It would go down hill from there.

Call me anything but don't call me late for supper.

"Skinny" is okay, but I prefer Fats - like Fats Domino, Minnesota Fats....
but "Clam" for EDE? He'd have to keep quiet!

Something this serious deserves serious reflection. There could be lasting repercussions. "Names can never hurt me?" Don't believe it. Consider your choices carefully, LHQers (and LHQueers) ((Sorry)) [eh?]

Earl Grey and Empress Teeds... It's so British, that's why I like it! I like it too. Ay, Yay, Yay!

And if anyone knows where that quote comes from (NOT Legion,) I'll give you an even bigger prize than the one Lash was offering last night.

MLLASH ... The Marquis de Lasheyette

EDE ... Eryk, Duke of Ester (a demotion from Calamity KING, I know, but ...)

Lightning Lad ... Sir Voltage ('cause Lightning Lord is already taken)

Senor Widebottom ... Baron Von Widebottom

Steve Lightle ... Lord of the Lightle Brigade

Eastbound and down,
Loaded up and truckin'
We're gonna do what they say can't be done

We got a long way to go
and a short time to get there
Eastbound, watch old Bandit run... [cool]

Well, THAT jogs the pleasant memory circuits, Lash LaRue!

'Twas the dark o'th' Moon on th' sixth of June
In a Kenworth pullin' logs
Cabover Pete with a reefer on
An' a Jimmy haulin' hogs

We was headin' for bear on I-One-Oh
'Bout a mile outta Shakey-town
I said "Pigpen, this here's th' Rubber Duck
An' I'm about t'put th' hammer down" ...

... Also from "Convoy," by the great C.W. McCall, patron of the Old Home Fill'er Up and Keep On Truckin' Cafe! (In his secret identity, he was Bill Fries, an ad executive, who was too much a musician to keep his sedate job, and went on to co-found Mannheim Steamroller.)

Great song, and it epitomized being a Midwest truck-crazy kid in the early-mid-'70s. And I still have that LP, hauled it to Shakey-town with me!

Hmmm...I used to be good at this--gave a few LMBPers their nicknames. Only thing other than "Lancey" or "Sir Lancelot" I can come up with is "Cracker", as in Lance Crackers, or "Crack" if you want an edgier feel.

I'm a bit old for the song, but it sort of fits:

Lather was thirty years old today,
And they took away all of his toys.
His mother sends newspaper clippings to him,
About all his old friends who stopped being boys.

And then there's the Robyn Hitchcock song Ted, Woody, and Junior

Ted, Woody, and Junior
Stand in the bath together
And cover each other with soap
Cover each other with soap

Ted, Woody, and Junior
Stand in the frosty garden
They can feel their sinews harden
So they cover each other with leaves
Yeah, they cover each other with leaves

It's a wonderful world
With a lot of strange men
Who are standing around
And they're all wearing towels

Ted, Woody, and Junior
Were disappointments to their fathers
But they had a way with lather
And they covered each other with soap
Yeah, they covered each other with soap

I've taken to calling Pov POVVINS, which I think is cute! And sometimes Povvy.
