Okay, Nightcrawler did such an outstanding job on these I think he deserves some notice and his own featured topic. So for those of you who haven't seen them yet, here are the first five:

Whoa! Do you guys want me to post them all?

Right now I'm up to Chemical King in the roster and I've wandered off the path here and there as you can see...

:)

If you see one that you like, I suggest you save it. Chances are I'll change it into something else. I'm fickle. It's another reason why I'm not farther along than I should be.

I've got them saved out and as soon as I find a new host for my site, I'll be adding them there so you'll have another place to showcase them. Assuming that is okay with you.

Of course, Scott. Always.

Hmmm...not all of the animations are working for me (Meglaro & Chloro), I guess I need to trouble-shoot after work tonight. I'm going to post a few more and then I need to call it a 'night.' The suns been up for a while - past my bedtime!

Hmmm. I wonder if Rob would consider adding these to his smilie collection? At least just the main Legionnaire ones. Oh Rob?

I'm SO embarrassed to be the one who admits it, bit I think I'm going to need a roll call... there are about 3 or 4 that I can't identify.

They are ALL just beautiful, though. Nighty, you are just AMAZING, and you are definitely the STAR of the board this week (month, even year, maybe!)

Kid, the easiest way to tell is to right click on an image and view the properties. Nightcrawler has been naming the gifs as the Legionnaire in question.

He gets my vote! Exactly why I created this thread and put it at the top. Everyone needs to share in these.

I think Superboy is the 4th one on the first batch. The red eyes are like heat vision.

Nightcrawler, we are not worthy. Timber Wolf was just like I hoped you'd do it. And good to see Lightning Lord's cheezy mustache!

Truly astounding. The smallest Legion action figure set yet! I know how difficult it is to design icons that communicate clearly in small spaces ... and these are half the size of most programs' icons. Bravo!

The variety so far is amazing, and the only event to top it for me will be when Nightcrawler reaches the Bronze Age, and (soon, I hope!) adds such members as Tyroc, Wildfire, Dawnstar, Blok, and the White Witch to the lineup.

Such a set of tiny files cries out for .zip compression, with a utility such as WinZip. (Hi, Pov! He works for the company that sells this superb program.) The 56 smilies so far take up 234 KB in Windows' filing system, out of address needs and a minimum "block size," and 92 KB directly ... but they can all fit into a single 72 KB .zip file.

{EDIT on 15 June: The file will be updated again soon.}

Thanks for the shout-out, Grey! WinZip 9.0 is currently in public beta release at the our site, and promises to be better than ever! <shameless plug OFF.> [wink]

Yeah, and Supergirl and Mon-El are similar, tho' Mon starts off as a Phantom Zone projector... VERY cool touch!!!

And Wildfire aside, let me echo everyone's huzzahs and hosannahs-- GREAT work, you "fuzzy elf"!

Well, I've fixed the offending parties. If you've saved Chlorophyll Kid, Matter-Eater Lad or Meglaro you might want to change to the new ones. For some reason, the old ones were NOT set to unlimited loops.

I've quickly cobbled together the following:

For Dave...

 -

For Greybird...

 -

And for Steve (sorry I'm still working on Quislet - he's proving to be a challege)...

So what's happened to one of Chemical King? Not complaining, just trying to get my second favorite Legionnaire some recognition.

Ulp! Back-burner, I'm afraid. I knew I should have waited until I was farther along to post these. People are feeling left out.

Nightcrawler I apoligize if I gave you the wrong impression. I was just reading back through to get the corrected versions you mentioned above and stumbled upon you talking about being up to Chemical King. These are great. Please don't stop posting them as you finish them. It was in fun. Take your time.

Nightcrawler, you certainly did BAMF those new ones together quickly! Thank you so much, especially for that attractive winged Dawnstar.

In my .zip collection of your "action figures," I've replaced the three you mentioned with their updated versions, and added the three new ones.
