Opens with Dreamer communicating to Legion World that she saw Darkseid in her mind. They proceed to search files for info on Darkseid when KABOOM! Darkseid breaks into the command center. We see Apokolips in an orbit not far from Legion World (getting mighty crowded up there!).

Meanwhile, Jo & Tinya are squabbling over Cub and "Little Miss Ardeen" when they hear the emergency alert.

Next we see lots of battle scenes. Darkseid is ... very bad news indeed, says Brainy. (What a clever guy, no wonder he's my favorite.)

Cut to Sensor with a huge tail, curled up on her bed. She emerges from her room, feeling that things have become too quiet. This is Sensor with mega-attitude.

Then we see Darkseid himself, who proceeds to plaster Star Boy, Kid Quantum over the floor with appropriately snide comments about their puny powers. Thom's power malfunctions and he turns into a black hole. (No I don't get it either - cause nobody gets sucked in, so to speak.)

Back to the Nah family, where Cub's sphere explodes, it appears he turns into a teenager if not adult (can't see, he's on the ground and I think it's Cub). Then back to the battle.

But Shikari tries to see who the voice saying "I am more" is- and she says all the legionnaires in stasis, saying "I am more". Then Sensor appears, royally pissed off - Sneckie is now Snarky - and these two proceed to unravel what's happening. Universo has seized contol of Legion World, making the legionnaires think they are fighting Darkseid. Shikari and Sensor resisted because of their powers. Then the Legionnaires attack Shikari and Sensor - Sensor flattens M'onel with her newly super-powered tail (details later, she explains) and the two escape to Brainy's lab, which is the only place with power and an active threshold..

Sensor wants to leave, Shikari fears the instability of this threshold opened to search for Val & Ferro - but then the other legionnaires break through to attack (thinking that they are attacking Darkseid), so off the girls go.

Last panels show a screen: Threshold damaged or destroyed during operation... Probability that bio patterns in transit have been corrupted or lost ++ 100%.

Go figure. Happy, Lash? I went through the pages really quickly - there's lots of details yet to cover. But that's the overall story.

random thoughts:
-- nice to see that they didn't give away the Universo part of the cover - it was a nice surprise
-- why did the solicitations say that they were planning to take action against Apokolips? That's not at all what happened.
-- At this point, I didn't think for a second that it was really Darkseid
-- I haven't read all of the postboot issues but of the ones I have read, Sensor really doesn't sound like herself. I suppose it's all due to stress over her situation and the heat of the moment, but it didn't seem anything like her (from what I've seen)
-- I kinda hope Sensor puts some clothes on after getting used to her new form.
-- I still like Batista, but he has a tendency to draw asymmetrical jawlines that make the characters look ugly at times.
-- This was a really quick read to me. Honestly, I think this could have all been covered in half the time and allowed for more story. Considering the first two chapters also offered very little in terms of plot, I was disappointed that we didn't get more -- I mean, it's been three issues so far, and we've spent most of it in fantasyland or chasing red herrings. We still don't really know anything about Universo or his plans other than he's the real villain and not Darkseid.
-- I really hope that thing with Cub isn't real. I'm starting to hate this "advanced aging" subplot. And for Grife's sake, let Tinya and Jo get this Imra thing over with and settle it one way or another already -- it's been brewing for 21 freaking issues already!!
-- More WILDFIRE godammit!!!

also whats with sensors super strength? This might be some attempt to explain that tank slapping thing a few months back.

Good issue. Really like Sensor's new design. It keeps her very alian looking but she has a face that "emotes" better. The red squiggles on her skin reminds a bit of preboot Jeckie's costume by Dave Cockrum.

Her extra strength with her tail might be a case of having extra joints in the tail. Or it could be like when somebody snaps a towel.

I had a thought when Sensor & Shikari had the portal shut down on them could/would they merge the two characters into one ala Wildfire?

Oooh I hadn't thought of that. It makes sense, except would they so quickly redo Sensor again? That is one cool design too IMHO

Yeah, I doubt they would redo Sensor again OR change their only original Legionnaire into Dawnstar, but it IS kinda weird about those two...!

And I agree, Batista draws a kick-ass new Sensor (which makes sense as he designed her!).

Sensor kinda reminds me of Sarigar from the old "Alien Legion" series, but only superficially -- not only for having a snakelike lower half, but they have similar noses and both have facial markings of some kind.

Shady, I'm hoping that the 100% thing has come up because the path is so distorted that it's sensors cannot actually tell what has happened.

I can't imagine that DnA would kill or change Sensor so soon after redesigning her.

There's a great big snake tail on the cover of #25, and Shikari's there too - so I guess it all works out. For those two, anyways.
