I'm going to suggest Lucius Malfoy (Draco Malfoy's father) from the Harry Potter books.
He might be a bit tough to deal with, but he's not as all-powerful as Lord Voldemort.
And being involved with the CSF seems his style.

She was kind enough to reply to me. She pretty much said she would start writing again once she had the time and she thought that we might have been confused as a whole as writers. Something to that effect. I assured her that we were a cohesive asskicker and that she should check out how the story's goin. I dont know if shes read it since we've picked it back up.
So keep at it m'boys. Bombard her with begs and praises. Hopefully we'll have her on the ropes soon.

Okay, last night I tried to write the bio for Chant, but because of some computer screw up, it got lost and I couldn't retrieve it, sooooo, nooww I shall try again. And at some point I'll even post a bio for the Chessmaster 9000.52, or was it .53?  whatever! In any case, in order for me to post to CSF I'll need one of you to draw the Chessmaster into the fight with Vegi-La and the CSF....And I think that certain person KNOWS who I'm talking about, right? no rush, as people are always saying to me (which I take literally) I just hope this story isn't going to take as long as the Convention Adventure did, damn that was long

So CJ would rather sit this one out. Sad, but understandable. The Vanguard stories are actually more her style, I suppose. They're more organized. They don't step on each other's toes. Less wiggle.
On a side note: I've thoroughly enjoyed stepping on all your toes for the last year and change.
Anywho, I say we accept this one and move on. I'll allow this loss, because, really, she'll only be a thread or two away in HH2, and we have so many other writers to concentrate on. Feel free, though, to send her a message or two every now and again. I know I will.
On that same note, I say we take the characters whose writers haven't been around for a while and put them on hiatus or take them out of the story permanently, depending. We need to skim down the ranks. Having fewer active members will make characterization easier, and make it easier for future inductees to jump into the story. We've already got a bunch of new members who'll need face time, and if what Brit and I are doing on other boards works, we'll have a few more members soon.

well, actually I AM going to Copenhagen, but not because of the wedding, a friend and I are going shopping in various bookstores and all that crap. it's not really a Grimm T-shirt, on the back it says 13th Penal Legion with Expendable written in red across it. How often have we seen promises of a writer's return in this talk thread? How often have we been given excuses for long absences? But rarely do they actually come back and post to the story. Oh no, I will not be fooled by "So as soon as I get some reliable internet I'll try to rejoin," or "I'm back too, on a limited basis."
They will not be considered "returned" until they've made a post to CSF. I will not count my chickens before they're hatched!
Can I get an Amen?
Now, MORE THAN EVER, we must bombard them. Don't let them believe, even for a second, that PROMISES will be them safe. The JLR needs TOTAL SURRENDER before it will back off!
