Lol, only a simple post to set up bigger things, very bigger things :) (I'll be home for the weekend and able to post). Hmmmm, Turner got the shit beat out of him and shot. Sam is drunk, alone and got slapped by the woman he loves. I wonder where they shall be at the stories end? Heh. Any guesses (for those who don't know?)

Grimm, great job.

I hope you like how Dirk responds to Ed's confrontation of him. [biiiig grin]

Yeah, it was cool. Very cool especially with the lamps.

The hand was only to have him getting upright, it was not intended as a way to "show" friendship.

To nitpick, I should say that I wrote that Dirk was senseless and on the shoulder of Euro, so it would have been really difficult for him to think and to kick the birdman, but that's not important.

For future reference, though, the problem with this whole series of post is that in the instant he shot Turner, the ex-MCCA agent would have fried (literally) him, without any though. [wink]

I love this kind of play, but in the future, when one does something unexpected to the character of another poster, should wait for his reply, and not simply walking away untouched. That is a bit unfair.

I have done that myself, starting a war, so I have learned the lesson. [um.... uh huh! ... ]

Howdy, all!

Just wanted to stop in and let you know that I may be dropping off of the face of the earth for the next few months or so... Theatre season is starting to pick up steam here and I'm already on board! Our school's Broadway Revue (a collection of numbers from musicals - Broadway or otherwise) was cast yesterday, and I got the lead solo in "Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast. (Yes, that means I'll be getting dressed up like a candlestick and speaking in an "outrageous" French accent!) The school's fall play is also coming up (auditions start a week from yesterday) and I hope to audition and perhaps get a part in that. If I don't get a part, I'll assuredly be working behind the scenes in some capacity, so I still won't be here as much.

All that, on top of work, school, and girl-chasing (I'm getting better... I think) is gonna be keeping me busy for a fairly decent stretch of time.

In the meantime, feel free to use Griss in any capacity you feel necessary. As I've already told TTT and Gooz, he's like a cross between a young Indiana Jones and a young Bruce Campbell. He's a jack-of-all-trades (and a master of them all) and tries to be a loner when he can (but not to the point of being obsessive, like Batman or Dirk Bell - he's social, but not when it comes to something he's "mastered". Then, he's awfully condescending).

Again, this is not to say I'll be totally gone, just even more erratic than usual in my posting.

Take care, guys! IM me if you so see fit...

Just a little more clearing up, Euro. I wasn't implying that Dirk wouldn't have taken Ed's hand of friendship. I was saying that Dirk wouldn't have taken his hand at all. His independent mind would not have allowed him to accept help, especially from a total stranger, super-especially from one who just attacked him.

Also, I had to go overboard with Dirk kicking ass because I felt that you wrote him as being too weak. Dirk is a combatant all the way around. He uses guns when they are needed, but he does just as well without them. He wouldn't go for a gun or anything with an opponent that close because it would leave him open for attack. Nor could someone just reach out and cold-cock him, especially if he still has at least one arm free.

Dirk may not have super powers, but that doesn't make him any less dangerous. Actually, it makes him more dangerous. He knows that he has to be twice the bad ass of anyone with powers and does so. He has no problem with taking a life, especially the one of a person with a metagene that is attacking him. He sees things as what he wants and needs, as in his need and want for his own life. The consideration of others is the last thing on his mind. Do not be fooled, though. Dirk will put himself out in harm's way when it comes to a battle. When a fight is going down, something clicks inside his brain that causes him go balls out and hold nothing back.

Yeah, Turner might fry Dirk with an arch of electricity; but Dirk would make damn sure that that was the last thing Turner did.

BTW, just be happy Dirk didn't DDT Edulcore onto the pavement. [woooOOOOoooo!] [wink]

I was finally able to post again!!!! :)

I hope you guys enjoyed my ending to the Dirk/Turner stuff. Doc, I hope I wrote Dirk fully in character (even if you wrote Turner a bit weaker than he really is [nyah hah] remeber he is the ultimate agent and all [wink] ).

Grimm, it is now dark and the nightlife can begin!!!

Chewy, you still gonna be on AIM, right?

I understand perfectly.

But the objection you made, works in reverse for your post.

You wrote Dirk shooting a bullet in Turner's leg, and then walking away happily, while the others stare at him.

That didn't make any sense. Both Edulcore and Turner would have kiked his ass badly, and Danny and Mxy should have followed them too. Probably Edulcore would have been severely beaten back, but Turner would have literally reduced Dirk to ash, with only a glance, and without Dirk having any possible way to react, beacuse not knowing Turner's powers, wouldn't have been able to anticipate his reaction.

Clearly, Gooz can't write Turner killing or wounding SEVERELY Dirk, that's obvious, but that makes no justice to Turner's power. After all, if he can rip the wall from the apartment, he would as easily have destroyed Dirk without any possible resistence.

All this to say that it's normal, when we write, to make some character a little weaker or somehow not perfectly aligned to what has been shown before. Sometime that's needed to preserve the flowing of the story, or we should continually asking the various posters to rectify what they have written. After all, that's precisely what you did disregarding the fact that I wrote Dirk unconscious and on the shoulder of Euro.

I understand that you want to show that your character is the ultimate warrior, but you must also understand that Turner is the ultimate secret agent AND metahuman, Edulcore is the ultimate raptor, Chance is the ultimate smart guy, Mxy is the ultimate magic being, Sam the ultimate shapeshifter, Naecken the ultimate everything and the same is true for every character.

If you want to shot a character in the leg, that's fine, and I must say that was a very cool post, unexpected, fun and very well done, but don't think to come out clean of a situation like that.

You shot him, and you get your load of beaten.

That's fair.

Once again, I must clearify. I don't expect Dirk to walk away from every battle unharmed. I just don't like it when someone says that all they have to do is hit him once and be done with it. The reason I didn't have Edulcore or Turner attack in the first post was because they were too shocked to react. Here they were, trying to have a fair and honest fight, when Dirk comes along and pops one of them in the leg. It was an unexpected event that kinda threw them all for a loop. As far as Mxy and Danny joining Edulcore and Turner in the fight, I'm not sure that would happen considering their anomosity towards the agent.

Also, if you check my post that started all of this, Dirk was already down the alley and gone before your post began. So, you can say that you broke continuity by allowing Edulcore toss a garbage can lid at his head. Dirk was already covered by the wall of the other alley he was going down. [nyah hah]

As far as Dirk kicking Ed in the crotch, maybe Edulcore only thought that Dirk was unconscious. Since you didn't specify that Ed used a fireman's carry on Dirk, I assumed that the gunslinger was slumped over one shoulder, allowing him to slide down a bit to make his leg connect. Also, Edulcore must be extremely strong if he can lift a 250 lb. Dirk and another 100lbs. of equipment that he wears.

Thanks for the clarification, Doc, but it seems that you don't get MY point.

You say "they were too shocked to react". Well, that seems umbelievable. If you are under attact, you respond.

Danny and Mxy, true, could have been shocked. They know Dirk, and what happened could have taken them by surprise, not expecting he could doing something like that.

But for Edulcore and Turner he was a complete stranger. If Euro sees someone shooting toward him, REACT, don't stare.

And the same, I am sure, could be said for Turner.

On the subject of the weight, Euro can lift at last 300Kg, thanks to the residual control over density that he has. It's stated, although not clearly, maybe, in the post with him and Doc Quantos.

In the end, don't misunderstand me: I really love this whole fight, from the shot to the wall breacking Turner.
Just, next time, I would like to see a chance given to the others characters, without pretending that they are only unmoving target.

PS:
I have edited my post to fit your explanations about Dirk's ways. Hope it works better, now.

You can take Sam off the list and add Turner to it. Sam is going to end up at the bar, but he is gonna make his way there alone.

Just remember that in this incarnation, Dirk isn't as much of a drinker as his previous lives. Though, who can drink as much as Dirk's last incarnation? [biiiig grin]

Montag's working on the security system (design more than actual execution at this point), but will be taking some time off when the bartender he met at the airport shows up... [wink]

And, yeah... Charley should be showing up slightly after you guys get done partying... [wink] [biiiig grin]

Ok, I was gonna try to get to this tonight, but I've been too busy. Bear with me, I'm gonna try and post in the morning. My next post is gonna be by necessity a long one, and I need some sleep before I attempt to write it.

I think it would make sense for Dr. Quantos to go with the guys, especially if it's to be Pete's Wake (should be mentioned in the story, too)
