Welcome to The Sub-Plot.
Sit down, have a beer or whatever poison you fancy.
Kick of your boots and relax in our huge chairs and sofas.

This Inn will be the place for us to post anything not related to the MBL/REVOLUTION.

Why?

Because!

The Hero Headquarters has turned into a Board within a board.
So it is only fitting that members of THIS board can chat about anything that comes into their (rather warped, yet extremly creative) minds.

So here goes.

What will your summer plans be like?
I´m free from work between the 10th of June to the 30th of June.
Three blissfull weeks and I have tons of wonderfull sci-fi books to plough through and friends who are grave need of visiting local beaches, so this will be a great holiday.
How about you?

Uh... I just got a full-time job that pays incredibly well and will be keeping me pretty occupied between now and the beginning of July. Planning a trip for Florida in the latter part of July as well. May get another part-timer, as well. Hey, what can I say? I need the money!

CHEWY! You're finally back and have a chance to drop by and what do you do? You go get yourself a job. For shame... I had expected more from you.

I'm at Wood-Mizer. You could always stop by on my lunch (half) hour...

I plan on getting in shape this summer, for once. And I have plans at writing/directing cheapass short films with my own camera. And that's it.

I´ve heard some rumours about Jolt Cola, and I need to know if it´s true...
The regular version has supposedly 100% more coffeine than regular Coke...but according to rumours, there is a 200% version out there as well...
Is this true?

I dunno... try not to touch the stuff myself. Highest concentration of caffiene I get is from Mountain Dew, tea, or coffee. Anything stronger and I'd be a human freight train that derailed two miles back with no brakes functioning...

...if that analogy makes any sense...

Oh well...of to work...another (actually fun) radio commercial to do.
I´m playing a british snob sitting at a poker game.
Betting great price cuts and limited offers instead of money.
It´s for a clothes outlet.

No need for details, but it would be fun to know where you all sit and create.

I live in Sweden in a small town called Märsta, just outside Stockholm.

Man, you're lucky, T5! All I get to do is paint walls for eight hours a day!

I "write" and "create" in my room/parents' 'den' at my home in IN or in my dorm room at ONU when I'm at school...

I'm in a small room down the hall. It's very close to my own room, but not enough, so I can't watch TV from here.

Between the 10th and 30th of June, I have my summer vacation.
And intentionally I have NOTHING, ZIP, planned.
So I will have lots of time to work on the Prince Of Hell saga.
Plus about 12 sci-fi books to plow through...a season 2 dvdbox of Star Trek,about 6 episodes of Farscape on dvd, and tons of food to eat at my favorite Japanese restaurant. I´m in paradise folks.

No, thanks for asking. There was a LOT of water on the streets (it was like a river out there), but the goverment suspended school for a few days in the affected regions, so I was able to stay home and remain dry.

This is a cool thread. [Smile]

You're a lucky bastard, T5! Sweden, DVD's, free-time.....

Just out of curiosity, is it true that Swedish women are as hot as they portray them on television? If so, then you are SO a lucky bastard! [Wink]

Anyway, unfortunately, I'm riddled with research experiments, and trying to get into Grad school in D.C. (BTW, Gooz, if/when I do move there, we have GOT to hook up some weekend! NYC is only two hours from D.C.!) I'm almost finished with research into direct memory applications, as opposed to inherent memory. Strangely enough, did you know that "learned" memory (such as studying, reading, etc.) follows a completely different neurological path than "emotional" memory (such as, the first time you burned your finger and learned fire is hot, etc.)? That is fucking cool, if you ask me!

So, T5, I know how Euro learned English. How do you know it so well? I assume it's taught in schools there?

Funny thought. We ARE an international board/team, aren't we?

Gooz, Chewy, Av, and myself = USA

Dan = Australia

T5 = Sweden

Mxy = Chile (?)

[Smile]

I was a Tarzan fanatic as a kid.
At the age of four i bought my first comic book (swedish) with him in it, but then I saw that my older sister had the original book at home in (english) so I pestered my parents to teach me how to read english, so I read it when I was seven...it took a few years but it was worth it.
I´m no prodigy when it comes to languages, it was just a burning desire to know how to read.

You are the one who is lucky Pro....I love theories and experiments.
Only I got this interest AFTER I graduated, typical eh?
So here I am working with advertising, instead of discovering anything interesting for mankind.
Me...Stupid...Duh;)

Allow me to explain something, T5.

I'm learning all of this (research) in school.

You taught yourself English at seven years of age! You learned an entire language just because you wanted to read it, at FUCKING SEVEN!

I am a lazy, atrophied American that was required to learn a foreign language to further my degree. To even consider learning a foreign language at seven years old is so completely beyond me, it's not even funny.

So, if you ever call yourself "stupid" again, I'm kicking you square in the balls. Got it? [Wink] [Smile]

So that's 7 countries so far (even though Nowhereman is, well... nowhere, man...); all we need is one more and we can hold a G-8 summit. [Razz]

I think it´s great that people from across the globe can have such fun as we are having here.
We enrich the stories with different outlooks in life, and with totally different cultural backgrounds.
Not many people can interact with each other if they come from different countries...it´s people like us that are the ones who can make a difference in the world.
I´m proud to be one of you.

As for "talking to myself"......... [izzat so?] [Wink]

As for TTT and Canada.......tell you the truth, most of the time I feel like Canada and the U.S. are pretty much "twin brothers" of the same country. Except we don't say "eh". [Wink] [Big Grin]

So......

Euro = Italy

Nowhereman = England

T5 = Sweden

TTT = Canada

Dan = Australia

Mxy = Chile

Gooz = New York (North)

Me = Mississippi (South)

Chewy and Av = Uhhh....middle?

As for KV and TC, I have no idea. Maybe they make up the west coast contingent.

So, should we dub this place Hero HQ International ? [Wink]

Good idea.
Maybe that way we will find some new members...but do we want them...I mean to many could be bulky.

Close. Av and I live in Indiana, the "Crossroads of America," so you could say "middle" and get away with it. Although, when it comes time for school, I relocate to Bourbonnais, Illinois - home to Olivet Nazarene University!

...yeah, I know...

...astonishingly unimpressive...

You know Chewy, I love how you never give anyone time to make fun of you, before you do it yourself. [Wink]

Perhaps, you didn't see where I'm from: Mississippi.

If anyone can make fun of themselves, it's me.

"Y'awl". "Yee-Haw". And the like. [Smile]

Funny enough, I was talking to Dan one time on ICQ, and I made a joke about me sitting around on my porch swing, barefoot, looking out over cotton fields, drinking a Mint Julip. Obviously the most prominently cliched' "view" of the South, right? I mean, most anyone would get the joke.

Dan goes "What the fuck's a Mint Julip?"

LOL! I nearly fell out. Even self-depreciation of my geography failed him. I then went into an explanation and rounded it out by comparing it to "throwing boomerangs at kangaroos with Crocodile Dundee".

He immediately understood, laughed, and told me to fuck off! [Big Grin]

God I love that kid......

Tell me, is the South (MS) really viewed in such a light?
Trust me, you can't hurt my feelings on the subject.
