Hey, Pro! Good to see you! As far as the confusion factor, actually, this latest Hero Revolution epic, "Selling Out," is an easy jumping-on point for anyone to join in, since you don't really have to have more than a vague notion of what's happened before (Euro-Chewy's capsulation of the first story helps), since the group is now stationed on that Caribbean isle we talked about and is set to take on a new series of less "super-hero"-ey adventures. Just read "Selling Out" right now and you'll get the gist of it, and take your time filling in the past with the other stories, since they're not really all that fundamental pertaining to the current one. Any character descriptions you could find in specialized threads for those.

The moral of this, I think, is that the next time one of us wants to lie, we should (a.) mess with dumber people than Gooz and (b.) not misspell "hey" ("ehy"). (Sorry, Euro. Couldn't really help myself there... all in good fun, old bean... )

Oh, TTT, I must admit that I'm a bit confused... You've given us the character of Kit Piper most often in the story threads, and yet, on at least two separate occasions that I've noticed, you've referred to him as "Kit Walker". Which is it? I'm a mite confused here...

True. But I have to explain how the Sonja thing came out. Sonja, in origin, was... my wife. I had her interested into our stories from a long time ago, to the point, her being a teacher in the local high school, to have her students doing a round robin story troughout all the school year. Months ago, when I was talking about the lack of female writers in our stories, she said that she would have liked to join us, but she's not able to read and write English. She conjured up the character and a basic plot for her. Then came the future story, and then a lot of more work for me, and she quickly lost interest in the thing. I had intention of bringing here my Nadia character from T5's board, and so I messed up all trying to tie the two characters together. Now I am waiting for a good moment to resolve Sonja's story and find a good place for Nadia as a secondary character.

I personally like it better when stories happen like this than when someone chooses a threat and initiates it from the first post. That was the crud we got ourselves into last time: no downtime to explore our own imaginations.
For me, when no one post there is no story. Luckily, that was when I posted, and not now. The last universe closed not long after we had the best "no story" story, "A sunny day in Mandelovia".

I apologize, but I didn't say that what you did was not fair. For me it was good, interesting and fun. I will give another example. Whan I introduced Eurostar's clone, I said that he had long, curly hair "like" serpents, an hommage to the old SHS. Chewy gave him actual snakes on his heads, with a complete explanation on how he got them. A thing more definitive that giving Walker a dose of serum (that could have easily been explained as not working). It could seems a minor thing, but that will prevent Eddie, in the future, to appear like a normal child. It was a twist that I did not expected, that was against what I had in mind for the character, but it seemed acceptable to me. In that moment my character was in the hand of someone other, so it seemed logical I had to accept that. [ 05-16-2002: Message edited by: The Eurostar ]

About not having written correctly both character, I apologize, but if I have given the idea that Lochlan was soft toward the Revolution or similar things, it was not my intention. MY intention was to show that he is interested for the raw powers of Eurostar for his own means. The last lines was a sorrt of joke: you and Gooz keep talking about the EPS as a team not evil, nor good. For now we have seen them only doing "evil", I hope to see a mission where the grey area is explored in a somewhat different way... About the umbeatable current Eurostar, I don't get what you mean. I explained the reason to make him indestructible physically. If you want to harm him, as per Chewy's rule, you must ask me to do, "plan it" with me, so why are you keeping the mystery? Please, fight him hard and rutless, but challenging him mentally... Please, really... [ 05-17-2002: Message edited by: The Eurostar ]

Thanks TTT. I'll take some time to try and figure out the mood/pace of this new universe. I'm a bit limited in my free time, even still. The GRE is a bitch to study for, and I've got to do a bit of traveling to secure a doctorate spot at one of many schools. BTW, anyone live in/close to Washington, DC? I'm hoping to get in to either American Univ., or, Georgetown. American's probably my best shot. Just curious. And, I'll ask this one more time: quote: Speaking of TOMB/MBL (and I was), is it still okay to write Elseworld-style stories with these guys? Being so completely seperated from what you guys are doing has left me with the only option of writing personal little epics (like The Order), and varied TOMBL-universe stories. I've got one that really makes no sense, but was just a great session of mental-masturbation to write the characters again. Let me know if it's okay, and I might post it.
Yes or no will do. Hey T5! How's it hanging? And, again, HELLO Eurostar! Gooz! Acknowledge my existence you wankers!

Yeah, yeah, yeah... I made a mistake. The reason I keep on writing "Walker" instead of "Piper" is because "Kit Walker" is the name of The Phantom (Fantomen in T5's country), and there's already a "Walker" in this story, so it makes me think of Kit Walker instead of Piper. In fact, I've written Walker and gone back and changed it to Piper several times while initially writing the story parts. Anyways, I've gone back and edited my posts, so none of this "Kit Walker" business should be taken seriously.

Euro: I'd like to change the photo of Quantos with another 50/60-something white-bearded guy, but I haven't found any suitable pictures yet. I would have used Gregory Peck, but I'd prefer someone who looks somewhat like him but is younger instead. If anyone has any ideas I'd be glad to hear them. And I'm surprised nobody commented on the "Young Guns" pic yet... [ 05-16-2002: Message edited by: TheTimeTrust ]

Personally, I thought the Reginald Vel Johnson picture was hysterical! quote: Originally posted by The Eurostar: When I introduced Eurostar's clone, I said that he had long, curly hair "like" serpents, an homage to the old SHS. Chewy gave him actual snakes on his head, with a complete explanation on how he got them.
I thought you wanted him to be like the old SHS! I must've lost something in the description or something because I could've sworn you said "snakes". At any rate, I should've read the post more carefully. Still, you can't fault me for something I did unintentionally, especially because I thought that was where you wanted to go with the character... quote: Originally posted by Prometheus: Speaking of TOMB/MBL (and I was), is it still okay to write Elseworld-style stories with these guys? Heck yes, Pro! Get on it! And finish "TOMB Forever" while you're at it!

Alright. Just curious as to whether or not you wanted Kit and Charles to be distant cousins or something... Thanks for the clarification, man.

Ah family. Have I ever told you guys I love you? Maybe it's just the massive amounts of wine in me at the moment. Heh. Okay, some points about TOMB FOREVER: 1) TombForever was intended to be a celebrational anniversary story encapsulating the history of TOMB, and touching upon almost every bit of lore. In that the time has WELL passed, would it still have the same effect for you guys? 2) When the boards went down, I lost every scrap of the story with them. Understand, unlike FINALE OF THE X, I was writing it based purely out of my brain as it came. No notes. No pre-written chapters. So, unless someone can send me the original parts, I have no clue where to begin again. 3) There were to be parts that coming up in it where I was going to ask for everyone to participate. After all, it was an anniversary for all you guys, not just me. For example, there was to be a post about Rypta and Danny together that Dan had agreed to write. Bibbo would get to write about Foreman and Bibbo together. And so forth. To do this now will take some serious re-tooling on my part, and/or, help by you guys. 4) IF I am going to do this, it will take me a few weeks to get back into the mindset of my orginal plot. Also, I sincerely hope that the hype in your minds hasn't overshadowed the simplicity of what I had planned. Overall, if there is a cry for this story to be finished, I'll do it. The above criteria, however, must be met in some way. Open dialogue people. Let me hear your thoughts. (BTW, I'll be out of town for the next three-four days, so don't expect a response until Tuesday or Wednesday.)

I know that I for one would still love to see this played out. For those of us on "the other side" of that universe and its characters, it can still be a celebration of TOMB. Of everything we knew and loved about that universe and those characters. It would definitely have the same effect on me, as I still vividly remember that time and place. And it was fun... quote: When the boards went down, I lost every scrap of the story with them. Understand, unlike FINALE OF THE X, I was writing it based purely out of my brain as it came. No notes. I know that I have the first parts of this story and will be sending them to your new e-mail address within the day. quote: There were to be parts that coming up in it where I was going to ask for everyone to participate. Well, I don't know of how much help I can be here, but I'd be MORE than willing to help out in any way that I can. Whether it's wrangling up the original posters or writing a bit myself, I'd be more than happy to do what it takes. quote: IF I am going to do this, it will take me a few weeks to get back into the mindset of my orginal plot. Also, I sincerely hope that the hype in your minds hasn't overshadowed the simplicity of what I had planned.
Take all the time you need... Bottom line. I loved this story. I thought it was a great plot (from what we saw of it anyway) and masterfully written. I want very badly to see the final outcome. I don't know who's with me, but those are my thoughts... for what they're worth.

I have all the chapters of TOMB FOREVER up to July 9th, 2001 in case you need it, Pro. I know I, for one, would like to see this completed, as it would allow me to write that Time Trust farewell story I've wanted to write ever since I decided to retire my character.

Okay, I've finally settled on Donald Sutherland for the "post-Crisis" Dr. Quantos. Originally I thought he was too thin, but the Dr. Quantos of the New Universe would probably look a lot more like Sutherland's scientist look than Gregory Peck's heroic look. And Sutherland is also much younger... the bonus part is that he's Canadian like Quantos is supposed to be. I've updated the site with a pic of Sutherland as Dr. Quantos. Soon I hope to have some more sections on the site, like a "library" with links to all of the published adventures so far, et cetera. I think Donald Sutherland would play the part in a "Hero Revolution" film as well. [ 05-18-2002: Message edited by: TheTimeTrust ]

I have been the first to join your campaign, Chewy. TOMB FOREVER forever! But I should also say that between Pro continuing TOMB and Pro joining the main HR storyline, I would prefer the latter. It would rocks!

The ironic thing is that I have a pic of both Sutherlands, father (Donald) and son (Kiefer), since the temporary Young Guns pic of course features Kiefer Sutherland. It might be time for an updated pic of the Hero Revolution group, too, especially since our membership has changed quite a bit since the last one that Euro did.
