A few years ago I was out drinking in New Delhi with a group of expat Brits.

We were drinking beer in this restaurant on Main Bazzar and I don't quite know how we got onto the subject but everybody in our group (except myself and the two ladies who were present) was able to press their nose flat against their face on account of the fact they'd been broken so many times in fights.

I was telling this story to a couple of friends this evening and we got talking about the various scuffles we'd been in. My last big one was a couple of years ago when me and some Romanian fisherman squared-up against some Ethiopian sailors in Masawa.

Anyway, who here has been involved in a punch-up and how did you get on?

Been a few years cause basically I find that so many people back down when you square up to them & show no fear.
Last one was probably a very quick fight with me just hitting the guy a few times,him screaming like a big girl,& then someone broke it up!

I had some early problems in high school. Bullies picked on me cause I looked like a geek. Well, technically I WAS a geek, but that's not the point. They stopped bothering me after they learned that I'd fight back. Even if the other guy was bigger, he'd learn to try an easier target.

I excelled at Street Fighter.

Never been in a fight...a couple of shoving matches in high school, but nothing beyond that. And I slapped a guy once in college that was an ass to my roommmate...

You bad!

i used to get ganged up on all the time. one time I did a round house to one kid, then took my pencil and stuck it into another kids throat and punched him out. then I took another kids head twisted it ripped it off and drank the blood while howling like a wolf with my foot on top of the pile of bodies.

god i'm so totally fucked up in the head. actually I got the shit kicked out of me and shoved into the toilet.

I've practiced martial arts since I was 6, so I know how to defend myself well. I didn't learn how to kill someone until I was 10, but that's another story...

Anywho, In 4th grade, some douche named James Rice was terrorizing my fellow classmates and I for the longest time. He came up to me one day during recess while my friend Edmund and I were melting gummy bears with a magnifying glass (we were bored... wanna fight about it?!) He tried to take our snacks and I stood up for them (Ed was shrimpy). He shoved me against a wall and held me by my shoulders. So, I kneed him in the solar plexus and panther-fisted him smack dab on the forehead. He had a red blotch for a week and never bothered us again.

Another bully, this time in the 6th grade, I got ticked off at and broke his right hand. He wore a cast for about three weeks. He never did say how it broke...

I've been smacked in the face with pinecomb(sp?). I'm not kidding.

i got into a lot of fights when i was really young. i actually kinda liked it -- most of them were with friends or local kids, who we'd later play football with the next day, or some other bull shit in a kid's world where nothing seems to matter or stick.

there were lotsa other more serious times, where older or bigger kids would pick on me and push me around. the main reason i was a target is the same as why i loved being a target -- cuz i was the underdog.

being small, you take a lotta crap. and, if you don't learn to deal with it, you'll take shit for the rest of your life. so, from a reeeeal early age, i was already fighting. bloody nose every day, taking swings and chances when i shouldn't, but because i could.

"hurm" i say!

there's no better feeling than showing up someone else, taking them out when there's no way you should be able to, feeling the shocked pride of every onlooker around you.

I've been alot of little minor scuffles.....and probably 3 major fights. If it's a real fight nobody ever wins......cause even if you clock the motherfuckers you feel bad afterwards.......but anyhoo like Nowhereman said......if you square up against them and they see in your eyes you mean business then the fight will never happen.

There's no better feeling then waking up on some guy's lawn on a Saturday at 3 in the morning, wondering why you can't move your left arm and how come the sky won't stop spinning, having no recollection of the previous night's activities.

In a fight, yes. Beaten up, no.

Not really a punch-up : I got stabbed when I was in highschool.

Actually, that sounds pretty serious. What happened?

I've never been in a fight. I almost got in one once at my brother's stag night, against a big Maori guy who didn't like the fact that we were making a lot of noise. I said, "No fight", and as he swung I held up my fists in front of my face, one over my right cheek, and one in front of my nose, elbows in and I crouched. I'd done a few years of kick boxing, and I guess it was enough to make the guy think twice: he stopped, and headbutted my mate standing next to me, instead of me.

It was not really a serious stab. I was part of the "popular" group back then(only because I was the class clown, not because I was popular.) and I chose to bully this one kid who was actually smaller than me. It got serious and he ended up stabbing me with a ballpen.

Naturally, my exceptional fighting prowess kicked in and I blocked it the way you would block a punch, which doesn't work too well against pointy objects.

I get beat up lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of times. It's okay though because that was pretty much my main goal for picking the fight in the first place. I'm a bit of a masochist. Although, I do try NOT to get hurt in a fight of course, I just do. It's still all good since I deal out a lot of hefty damage myself.

There's just something so.....wrong(?)....about the smiles...I can't put my finger on it.

I´ve been in a fight once or twice in my life, but gotten beaten real up? That´s only ever happened once, and he was way bigger and way stronger than me.
As for the other few fights I´ve been in, they have mostly been draws. And it has mostly been with good friends (well, very bad friends at the time, but usually very good friends)

There is only one fight I´ve been in where I actually beat someone up real good, and that was many years ago.
These days I try to avoid situations that can involve into a fight.

I'm a lover, not a fighter.

I can use anyone to crush my opponent, but I prefer Ryu, Ken, and Sagat.

I never really beat anyone up i used to always get the upper hand because I was a big and strong kid. I usually let them go crying home to mommy without denting them too badly. I don't really get into fights.even big guys tend to back down because they think I'm psycho..cause I usually go pretty nuts.

One time a guy did punch me full-force, square in the face because I wasn't expecting it. I didn't really move I smiled and laughed and he ran off before I could get ahold of him. That's the only time anyone got the upper hand on me. As Nowhereman said unles there's a gang of people on you most intelligent people back off.
