I posted the first half of the Special, the important part. I won't post the second and last part just yet because, well, I haven't started it yet. I finished this part like a week ago but I didn't post it because I wanted to post the whole thing at once.

Well, that redefined the 'shotgun marriage'. Awesome story! I want more!

Euro, are these just characters for you to use in solo threads, or, are they going to confront Vanguard in the next story, or what?
As I said, I have no problem with very powerful characters, when they are NOT the good guys in our team.
Will the Strikeforce 2 confront Vanguard? I honestly don't know.
The purpose for this team, in my vision, is to inspire in the world the need for a "superhero team", and to interact with the evil MBL in a way I have discussed a little with Grimm. Merlin still hide the fact that they are metas to the public at large, as he is playing along the meta-hate.
So, will they confront Vanguard? I don't know, I leave it up to all of you. I think it would be interesting telling a story, in the solo thread, about their training and first mission, to tell THEIR way to delve with things, and their intereaction with Merlin.
Then, if one come up with an idea for a story featuring them and Vanguard, I would be very cool with that. Just, I ask to NOT have Vanguard defeating and destroying them in that first story. You know, the need to build up rivalry among not just the organisations, but the single characters as well.
For a second confrontation, then, well, anything could happen.

I am back with more thoughs after I read, off-line, the last posts in the various threads.
Mxy: you are the best writer around. You are the Prometheus of the HR Universe. You doesn't post for long times, and then come up with masterpiece like the Special, leaving me craving for a lot more. Just a though: who is KTL?
The Strikeforce: a confrontation with the Vanguard is clearly building up, more quickly that I intendend, but also very realistically, up to the point that I must confess that I should have been blind not to see that Vanguard, after having destroyed the Nibiru, should really be the obsession of Merlin. Kudos to Doc and CJ for having clearly shown that in their posts.
In any case, the issue about the confrontation between the two groups will not be the next, which has been called by Gooz. I have started issue 11 and issue 14, so I would gladly leave to others the start of the story.

Mxy, you've done it again!
The coolest part for me is that, back when you made the post when Velo was cut off from giving his explanation of Mxy, I thought to myself what that explanation could've been. The one given in the Special was what I would've come up with(I never thought that would be the true explanation). Can't wait to read the rest of the story.
And that's terrible.

Well, I'm not Danny (as far YOU know, anyway), but, I believe chartreuse is a color. Although, what kind of color, I cannot remember, as only poofs and Danny know.
Or just poofs.
Same difference.

IOTA
Bei Rui-yu was a young Buddhist monk dedicated to a life of self-denial in a secluded monastery in China, when armed men from the Chinese government arrived and took away Bei Rui-yu and five of his fellows -- the most self-disciplined and learned in the monastery -- and brought them to a secret testing facility in which they served as guinea pigs for a top-secret experiment.
The Chinese government had spent many years on two secret and somewhat interlinked programs: The space program, in which their Teikonauts would soon explore outer space, and another program designed to explore innerspace. To that end, a method of shrinking matter by shifting mass partially into the fourth dimension had been perfected and tested upon both inanimate matter and animals with ultimate success. Unfortunately, when this shrinking method was tested on humans, none of them could handle the process -- many simply died, while others became completely and incurably insane. The testing of the disciplined Buddhist monks (seen by the materialistic Communist elite as already somewhat "insane" by their standards) was the last attempt at a failing project. And though two of these Buddhist monks died immediately and three others were put into catatonic states, Bei Rui-yu managed somehow to survive -- a certain unknown factor in his physical and/or mental makeup allowed him to thrive despite the dangers of the shrinking process.
And so Bei Rui-yu became the focus of the innerspace project, though after several months of investigation there was still no sign of the unknown factor which allowed him to survive, and the project was put on hold. When Jack Merlin requested an agent from the Chinese government, they gave Bei Rui-yu over to him and his Strikeforce with little regret. He was seen as useless due to his lack of enthusiasm for the aims of the government and was, besides, no communist. Still, Bei Rui-yu remains loyal to China as a matter of honour. Upon being recruited to the Strikeforce, Bei Rui-yu was given the code-name of Iota, though Bei does not understand the reason for this (he considers it an insult to himself and his ancestors) and refuses to call himself by that name.
Abilities
Bei Rui-yu is unimpressively small even at normal size, but he is nevertheless an expert hand-to-hand combatant with an eerily accurate instinctual battle sense.
Bei Rui-yu has no metahuman powers, but he is uniquely suited to the shrinking process which he uses to change size while in his battle-suit and which would cause madness or death to almost any other human or human-like consciousness.
Iota's battle-suit has a fully self-contained atmosphere and allows him to survive in the most hostile of environments (such as sub-atomic "universes") for long periods of time. A unique property of the battle-suit is its ability to deflect a blow upon any part of it to the whole surface of the suit, making it extremely difficult to puncture or smash.
The battle-suit is fairly heavy, making it impractical to use at normal size -- it works better with some or most of its mass shifted into the 4th dimension during the shrinking process. When shrunken to a relatively small size Iota can shift the weight of the battle-suit from its original 500-pound weight to a weight lighter than air quickly and easily. By maneuvering his weight while in motion, Iota can rocket through the air and smash through almost anything like a bullet. Propulsion "jet-packs" enable Iota to fly and maneuver easily through the air after shrinking to a small size (the "jet-packs" don't work very well at normal size due to the weight and mass of the battle-suit).
(There's probably more that logically fits in with his abilities that I'll make up as I go along.)

Thanks, Euro -- the only thing I regret about what I wrote in the Strikeforce story is that I couldn't find a way to explain him a bit better or show his shrinking capacity at all. Hopefully the information I've provided in this talk thread will help explain the character a bit better, and I'm hoping to include all that information in the actual story somewhere, too.

You bastard! You stole my schtick! I'm the Tin Man 'round these parts! The one-and-only unoriginal time-traveling android ripoff of the DC 1,000,000 Hourman known as The Time Trust!
You're supposed to be looking for "c-c-c-courage" or the other one... I dunno. Anything but the Tin Man's bit. That's TTT's game.

Hey guys, I'll be in Tampa until Monday, I will try to post some time on Sunday, but I can't make any promises. We're hitting Busch Gardens, my braces are finally coming off, and I need to make sure my mom is okay after her surgery (some stuff was cauterized yesterday, she seemed pretty groggy and she was throwing up last night).

GRIMM : Your secret's out!
TTT : Although I have yet to read anything in the Strikeforce Thread (I'll have time this weekend, hopefully), the idea behind Iota sounds very interesting.
CJ : Famke Jammesen/Jean Grey? Goood! Tampa? Gooood! Braces coming off? GOOOOD! (I went through three years of those rubber-band-ed bastards, so, I feel your pain! Of course, that was 1986, but, still the memories of Jello-and-soup-only when I first got them still haunts me...)
Doc : Speak for yourself, sir! I, as it happens, am a fully-functional, fully-sociable nerd, thank-you-very-much....

Thanks, Pro. Your Turkish Stringfellow "Bulletproof Monk" thing kind of inspired Bei Rui-yu in a way. I hope he proves to be interesting.
OK, since nobody's closed up this talk thread and started a new one yet, I figured I'd begin a new one for Vanguard...
