The US has been talking about removing Saddam for years. The WMD's were just the rallying point, not the motivation. I am sure some of the motivation had to do with screwing over France, Germany, and Russia. You know, reminding them who's boss.

Eh, what do I know. I'm just talking out of my ass.

Look, Saddam had chemical weapons. We know this. He has used them. He was playing games with the inspectors for years. You know he moved things around so that they never found anything. The question is how much did he move? How much did he have? It's probably all in Syria.

The point is, the world made a decision to leave him in power as long as he did not pose a threat to anyone, well, except for his own people. Anyway, he broke the rules, and he was a tyrant, and it was his time to go. Now the Iraqi people have a chance to be a free people. Their destiny is in their own hands, where it belongs, not Saddam's.
