We used to have a PM thread around here so that mentions of PMs being sent wouldn't bombard the talk thread or get lost in the talk thread... Why not start a new one?

I just advanced the story to December 31st since no one else had the cajones to do so themselves, and I'll not listen to any complaints about my doing so. Everyone's had plenty of time to get the Christmas Day posts in. I don't want this story to die due to lack of interest.

I'd like to wrap up this story as well. Caliburn needs to breathe the air of combat... (or something. That really came out wrong.)

So the options for a quick wrapup to the story are:

1) Do the New Year's Eve Party, but do it quickly, like in just a few posts as a "book-end" to the year...

or

2) Have the story end now, and if the New Year's party is ever referred to we can say everyone had a jolly good time or something like that. It does seem a bit redundant to have three parties in a row in the same story (Axel's birthday, Christmas Day, and now New Year's Eve).

I'm fine with either option, personally. There is a third option, which is to take the New Year's Eve party at the same slow pace as we did the Christmas Day party, but I think we're all a bit tired of the story. It's not that it was a bad idea, but I don't think many of us have had the time or energy to contribute to it enough to do it justice.

I know that I would have posted a lot more if I was still using Chance as my character, since he actually had close ties to many of the Vanguardians already, and my current character Mason Templar is a complete outsider at this point (though he has been used well in that capacity in this story). I had originally wanted to do a lot of stuff with Axel Magus in this story, but I think it was better to have that moved into a separate thread, which I did, even though I won't be able to post in it until I have more free time.

I wuld have one post, more or less, to do, happening during the party, to tie up some loose ends. I would have preferred that someone other started the party (I was expecting some B team - C men stuff, in fact), but if no one is in the mood, I will do my post and then let someone other to wrap up the story.

I have done with the Christmas story. Feel free to continue the fight between the girls, or just wrap up the story.

I wanted the two ex-members of Vanguard, that both left the team without saying goodbye, to come for a last salute, but then they rivalry took over my finger.

Also, about Eddie: he does speak (as a two years and a half kid does - or, at last, as my daughter does), just he doesn't speak when Euro is around.

Gooz, I wanted to aknowledge the loss of the cousin of Euro during the battle in Antarctica, in this story, but then I felt it's better if I do that in the Raptor's solo thread. I will, in a few days.

About the Strikeforce:

Chewy, do you think of making a little post about the introduction of Ubermensch, or do you leave it to me or any other poster?

Gooz, are you still thinking of doing a Green Arrow type of character?

There are still the Black Canary, Elongated man and Hawkwoman rip-off to be created. Anyone interested?

This was a post I made Friday, but my computer conked out on me before I could post it. I've adapted it to fit with what Euro's done without just flashing back. Still never figured out how to have Adem give Brianna her present. Oh, well. I might come up with something.

I'd like to do it, but it's all an issue of time (which is why I've not posted anything in FRINGE lately). Hopefully, I'll be able to get to it before you're ready to close the thread...

As to a Hawkgirl, I've created one, but it will be solely for use in my newest FRINGE title. Sorry...

Oh, BTW, Sammitch, about your last post. I've already introduced that fact that Adem is no longer trying to get back to his home planet and that he's trying to work himself into the society on Earth. Hence all the questions about social and cultural things.

I think the whole problem with this stoy has been that we waited too long. It's hard to write a Christmas story after you've gone through the holiday and pretty much wore out the feeling of the season. I'd rather have started this the first week of December. I think we would have all participated more and moved on by now. But there's nothing to be done with it now except wrap it up.

I say we give Gooz untill the end of the week to let us know if he's dead or not. (If he's dead and responds, we might want to look at possibly moving the boards.) If we don't get an answer, we need to move on. We've become slow enough as it is to have to wait on posters. If anyone has any story ideas ready to go, keep them in mind just in case.

Mr. Gooz would like to inform the party that he reserves the privalege of the last Christmas post. He would also like to inform his fellow writers that proposed fiftenth story will begin on Thursday morning. Any objections will result in a swift kick in the shin.

(I suppose I really am the new secretary of the bunch )

Well that's a relief. I just hope Mr. Gooz sticks around long enough for the story to complete before disappearing once more into the mists... Last thing we need is a repeat of #13 -- and I'm not putting blame on anyone in particular, since I know we all get busy, but it was set up in such a way that only the few people who had disappeared were able to advance the plot of the story. We really need to move away from that kind of storytelling. Just let the stories happen.

On that note, I also hope that there is nothing "planned" about issue #15 other than the beginning. I don't want to feel like I have to wait for anyone to post something crucial before I can write anything. It's happened that way so many times before, and we need to avoid that whole "waiting for someone else to post" thing, at least within reason.

Gooz was the one to propose to adopt all the collective user name of Hero, and talked often about complete freedom in the writing of a story, so I am sure you have nothing to fear, TTT.

I just posted my last post in the Christmas Special, and I hope to be able to post in VANGUARD #15 this weekend, by Sunday at the latest. Let's get this wrapped up, people! (And please don't use sig-lines in the story.)
