stan lee's recent ... "story" aside... how different would superman be, were he created and active in the marvel universe? assuming most aspects of the character are, at least, somewhat similar to what we currently know, from his origin (whichever you like, mota ), and basic power sets, costume, etc... what major differences could you expect in his development? or re-development? how would his villains be crafted or altered? how would he interact with marvel's other characters?

He'd be in New York City, not Metropolis.
Beyond that, I dunno.
And that's terrible.

It's hard to say.
At this point, I'd say that Superman is pretty much "Marvelized."
There's very little distinction between Clark and Supes, the writers and artists are usually former Marvel staffers, etc.

He'd be in the Avengers.
It'd be difficult to see how Marvel would be able to sustain both Cap and Supes both as national symbols. I suspect Supes' alienness would be emphasised. He'd probably spend a lot more time in space hanging out with the likes of Galactus, the Silver Surfer and Thanos.

Just like he didn't put up with the dozens of greek gods claiming to be protectors of the city?
Interconnection in the Marvel titles, yay!

I think he'd follow the same pattern of having a mild-mannered reporter as a secret ID, but there'd be less emphasis on Clark Kent and more on Superman. Look at Captain American and Thor. They practically have no secret ID's even though they're well established. That's how Supes would be treated.
However, I think he'd have a better rogues gallery, and a more defined role possibly. He might be treated more as a cosmic superhero a la Quasar or Captain Mar-vell than as an American icon.

I agree ...Superman would still adopt the mild mannered Claark Kent reporter identity, and the Kents would still be his parents, thus enabling him to grow into the stable, caring, compassionate man he currently is, though there would indeed be a LOT more empasis on action scenes and his Kryptonian heritage, and less Clark Kent, and more science fiction.....
But the one thing that would remain constant is Love. Clark loves Lois. Clark loves humanity, and his adopted home, the Earth.
A wise Superman writer at Marvel would do well to remember what Dean Cain said in an episode of the New adventures of Superman -
" Clark Kent is who I am..... Superman is what I can do. "

Oh, and Rick Jones would have been involved in his origin somehow. Or Rick Jones would have been his sidekick. Or both.

Supes would have kicked Thor's ass several times by now as well!

Rick Jones would be this world's Jimmy Olsen. Funny thing is, all of Jimmy's mis-adventures (as Turtle Boy, etc) would happen to Rick and stay in continuity.

I wonder how Hulk and Supes would get allong in the same universe? I don't think Superman could stop a pissed off hulk.

Lothar, that is a VERY good question! Just who would be stronger in a fight, The Hulk Or Superman? I believe there was a comic printed showing a fight between the two, though I never read it.... It might be worth checking out.

Apparently, The Sentry's Clark Kent-esque alter ego is now working alongside Spider-Man at the Daily Bugle.

This is an incomplete bio for Sentry. What's really important is that he is Marvel's answer to Superman and that he will be joining The New Avengers in the upcoming months.
