I need to construct a media kit on SUV safety for my Public Relations course by next Monday. If anyone has previous experience with putting together media kits, please list your suggestions on this thread.

Isn't the whole point of the lesson, given that it is a class in PR, for you to learn how to do it?

I sort of feel like that would be cheating.

[In cranky old man voice] Dang kids. When I was in college 20 years ago we didn't have no new-fangled internet to cheat offa. We had to use our friends...and we LIKED it.

From what I remember of our media kits (that I had to put together) at a past job, it included a current PR, an about us sheet, I think, a finicial statement of sorts.. I don't remember what went in it exactly other than a press release, the rest is pure guess on my swiss cheese memory. I'd suggest looking at major company websites, see what they have in theirs. If you have the time, request a media kit from them and see if that helps.

It's a rented tux ok? I'm not going comando in another man's fatigues.

Thanks for the suggestions, Batwoman.

G-Man, by consulting this website for help, I'm actually applying a principle I learned from the course. Consulting various audiences for information is a popular public relations tactic, often used in conjunction with appealing to public sympathy. The course textbook highlighted Rudy Giullianni's administration during 9/11 as an example.
