Holy fuck. That was amazing. Every fucking second of it. Now that they've got non-Dwayne McDuffie comic writers working on it, the show has been the best it's ever been this season. I feel bad for Red Tornado, though.

"Amazo" was the best villain they've had so far, hands down. He had some great lines, and his voice and manner (or lack of manner) was chilling. Not to mention the sheer power he demonstrated.
I wasn't too fond of the voices of Atom or Steel. Atom's seemed like they were trying too hard to make him sound nerdy and Steel's seemed like they were trying too hard to make him sound black, but in light of everything else, those were minor issues.
I haven't seen the creators pull this much out since Starcrossed. So many heroes doing so much cool shit. The corps, Fate, and so many members of the JLU.
Amazing!

And the last shot will leave someone out there very happy, that's for sure.
This was a great one, and yes, blink and you missed so many cameos. It was great seeing all the heroes.
So my question is, what was with that last shot? I loved seeing her period, but didn't get what happened and why. Obviously I still haven't seen Star Crossed so if it was done in that, well then I really need to get a hold of a copy of that now.
It's a rented tux ok? I'm not going comando in another man's fatigues.

He's right, you need to see Starcrossed. It explains the change from JL to JLU and explains her situation.

Hawkgirl's situation becomes a lot more important in an upcoming episode, so you might wanna see it soon.

This is where Shayera tells Dr. Fate that Stewart's bark is worse than his bite . . . and apparently, she's been a "guest" at the tower since she left the League.

Composite Superman
New episode on now. Looks good so far.
Did the two of you also notice that it was Wonder Woman's voice coming from the Composite . . . not Bruce or Clark.

Yeah, that was good stuff.
I've got a link to the two comic book adventures involving The Composite Superman on the previous page. It has to be read to be believed.

Even in the episodes for WB episodes of Superman, he always had some kind of space suit or breather when he went into space. So, as for "why"...got me, other than they're sticking with the animated continuity.

The star dude is The Red Star, a Russian superhero.
I was always under the impression that S.T.R.I.P.E. was a robot...

That's right! I couldn't figure out who he was, obviously I forgot all about him.
As for the whole Superman space suit/oxygen thing, does he really need oxygen in space? I could have sworn I remembered the time when he'd fly around space like captain Atom or someone. I know in Kingdon Come, he and Diana are sitting on the side of the satelite chatting and he's got an oxygen mask on, yet she's not wearing one. That's the only other time I can remember seeing him wear one in comics. The other being when he came back to Earth.
Other than that, I always remembered him being able to breath in space. *shrugs*

People, since CRISIS Superman's always needed oxygen in space! DC scaled down his powers and made him more oxygen-dependent in space. I read somewhere he can hold his breath for 45 minutes to an hour before he needs his next breath. After his resurrection however, they made him more powerful and made his oxygen dependency less stringent. As for the animated continuity, it seems they made him weaker.

That''s what I was saying, I remember him not needing the oxygen when in space, and then seeing him be dependant on it. But, obviously, I don't read enough Superman books/stories to know what the deal is with it.

As has been said, Post-Crisis, Superman requires O2, much like most carbon-based lifeforms. Personally, I love that limitation. One of my major nitpicks is seeing Supes hanging out in space, with no oxygen supply, and breathing normally. I mean, if we are going to attempt some minute adult-like drama with this character, let's at least use the science we have at hand in the real world to help define him.

I don't know. Maybe they're taking cues from Avery Brooks, the toughest black man ever to step foot in space. Or, maybe he just looks better that way. And he does. And, just because you can't grow one, doesn't make goatees "gay", Chewness.....
Quote:
Chewy Walrus said: Isn't S.T.R.I.P.E. a robot with a guy inside? Wouldn't he still need oxygen to survive? If so, why is he in space?
Didn't you just answer your own question? He's a guy inside a robotic suit. If he's up there, then, I think it's assumable that it has a portable oxygen supply. And, if I were inside a metal container like that, I'd want one no matter what I was doing, or where I was....

That is Steve Ditko's "Prince Gavyn", called Starman. He was the Starman of the 70's. He would later go on to carry a Moses-like staff in which to conduct his abilities through. He was last seen in Crisis on Infinite Earth's #10, where he sacrificed himself to save his home planet. In James Robinson's STARMAN series, another Starman (the one from the 80's....I can't remember his name) has been impersonating him recently.
Grimm made the comment the other night, while watching this episode, that the creators of this cartoon must really be Steve Ditko fans, as they are using alot of his character (ala' Hawk & Dove, the Question, Starman, etc.)
