Been waiting to start this for a bit. Decided to go ahead and do it and get it running.
Ball to you, "Adem."
Let me tell you something, just because something is in a graphic format doesn't mean it needs to be apologized for. And just because a novel is serious, doesn't mean it's serious fiction. The only thing comics should worry about is telling a good story. You do that and people will find it.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: I don't want to touch your balls. Keep 'em to yourself.
AND PUT SOME PANTS ON!

OK, I'm not sure if my use of Edmund Gaunt in this post is correct, so don't please don't make any assumptions about his personality based on my post until Grimm says something. I'm also not sure if the little detail about accents with Adem is appropiatte either, now that I think about it, so, Doc, if there's any problem I can edit it out.

Minor inconsistencies are no problem.

I'm not gonna worry about it too much at the moment since we're just getting set up and establishing the group. I am going to set up a secret files and origins thread to give us something to refer back to though. and your avatar is gay.

Good stuff, everyone. I'm very pleased with this so far.
Our head count on the field team is:
Drake Adem Lykopis Gaunt Link Icarus
I think that's a good number for us to get started with. Looks like a good team. I'll post later today with Paragon addressing the group as a whole.

Just as a clarification about Icarus after that last post: he doesn't necessarily lack confidence in the abilities of his teammates so much as he is extremely over-confident in his own. He's also not the typical two-faced pretty boy who's all talk and no follow-through. However, he is a typical young hotshot who's so convinced of his own superiority that he doesn't realize why another person might be needed. Hence, his outburst in the briefing room. Basically, he's an oblivious asshole who is so engrossed in himself that he doesn't even realize he's offended anyone. Just a little FYI...

And that appears to be Ozzy sliding in off the injured reserve. Good. I have a little game I'm going to set up in the morning for those interested. A little training session for the team, as it were.

So he's made a full recovery and is current banging several Japanese midget tranny hookers, is that what you're saying?

speaking of subtext, training time! Let's have some fun with this, as the group tries to learn to work together. heh. Let's not one post wonder this, or bitch any characters out. Pick up the ball, carry it a bit, then hand off, leaving something so somebody else can come in do something.

"Us"?!
First of all, yes and no to all of the above questions. Place them in whatever order you wish.
Second, Chewy, try reading the dialogue in a flow as opposed to grammatical accuracy, or, literary value. It's just conversation, and the agent was speaking for both of them, not just himself.
Still, if it makes you feel better:
"What would you have me do?"
[ADD REST OF PARAGRAPH]
"Me, Doctor? There is no 'me'. In fact, there is no 'us', at all..." he replied, indicating the other agent sitting next to him.
There.
All in all, if I am to write in this thing, and on this board at all, expect me to try different writing styles and new approaches to convention, If you like, love it. If you hate it, get out of the way...

I think he's confusing this with the Evil MBL talk thread. Poor Sammitch... Grimm's refusal scrambled his brain...

My post kinda contradicts the brief conversation between Link and Doc in the control booth Grimm posted before, but I just came up with Link's excuse for not revealing his power.
In case you haven't noticed my posts are often very short because I'm not very good with description, specially during dialogue. Chewy could have made the same conversation last six pages if he wanted. Any tips on that, anyone?

Since there is no Siege talk thread, I am putting it here: Grimm, GREAT rendition of Nadia. Now I'm curious to see what she wants from Euro.

Cool. Thanks. I kind of want to do a talk thread for it, but at the same time I don't. Heh.

Are you asking for help with improving your dialogue?
Some really good ways for doing so are to study works of writers (across various media) that are generally acclaimed for their dialogue. Tarantino, Bendis, etc. I'm sure somebody here can come up with more examples.
Also, a good way is to listen to the way real people actually talk. Go out in public somewhere and just listen to the people around you. Try to catch the rhythm and flows of their conversations. Without eavesdropping, of course. (Unless they're talking about something really juicy. )

What I meant... I mean, what I think that Link fella meant, is that I--he's not very good for descriptions, and it's even harder during dialogue.
