Moving the story along. Three teams: Adem/Icarus, Gaunt/Lykopis, and Drake/Link.

Let's have some fun.

K, going to make another post that will ID the threat.

For future reference, since I don't like bookmarking pages...

ASBJÖRN m
Usage: Norwegian, Ancient Scandinavian

Derived from the Old Norse elements áss "god" and björn "bear".

I figured since we're dealing with a Norweigian ship, we might as well have a little fun with Norse mythology, which, if I remember 9th grade English, feature wolves in several legends. And since the concept of hell has also been introduced, let's have a little fun with this Hellhound I've created.

This is the closest picture in my head of what I think this hound looks like. I'll draw a picture myself if I have the time tonight.

Posted again with Adem and Icarus. Hope my Adem was acceptable and that you don't mind the situation I put him in. I just figured that with his being an alien and his being a detective would lend itself to wanting to find clues no matter where. If you are offended, however, feel free to has something a lot less dignified happen to Icarus as my penance.

Hope you don't mind the shift in menaces, but with the setup, and all the events going on, the Wendigo just seemed a better fit.

Plus, being shapeshifters, they could easily impersonate a "hellhound" or be mistaken for one by the Norwegian sailors.

Wendigo, Yeti, Sasquatch. . .

Of course, I don't rule out the notion that something larger may be at work.

It may seem I just came up with that, inspired by your awesome post with Danny in V.I., but that was actually a coincidence. I've been planning this since I introduced the character a while ago (I didn't know where he'd show up though).

Fine with me. Could be that this hellhound's just something a Wendigo would use to distract everyone too. I'll read up on Wendigos sometime tomorrow morning.

I've really love this story so far. Everyone seems to be building off of what people have left before them instead of ignoring or burying it with their own personal concepts or ideas. I think we're finally getting a glimpse at how these characters will react to each other as well as to situations in the field.

What the fuck do you expect here? I'm drunk! I can barely see the screen.

Actually, what I'd really like to do with that, is have the hellhound(s) and wendigos at odds with each other. Like rival predators or something. With the Vanguards caught in the middle.

That's very cool!

I like this story, it has the feeling of a X-files "monster of the week" episode.

Link has another ability besides his insanely fast healing factor (at least one more I've figured out so far), but I'll keep that under my sleeve until I find a good opportunity to reveal it, if you don't mind.

I thought the chain would be a nice addition. If Grimm ever wanted a dog, this would be his Fido.

I friggin hate drawing gorillas.

You're welcome, Chewy.

Anywho, I don't want anyone to take my post as being the gospel of the story or Adem's theories as being fact. As I have pointed out before with the character, he doesn't blindly stick to any one concept of what's going on. If new evidence shows up, he'll take it into consideration instead of trying to make it fit with any preconceived notion of what's happened. Feel free to experiment and explore with him.

The hellhound I introduced in my post is Garm, the guardian of Helheim in Norse mythology. What he's doing on this ship and not at his post is anybody's guess. I'd prefer he not be a Wendigo in disguise, but I'll ultimately leave that up to whomever posts next. The reason I say that is because I like the idea of more hellhounds than just Lord Asbjorn onboard the Abbadon.

Very cool. More hellhounds are fine, but I must say that Fenris himself, is off-limits. For reasons that should be obvious (he's in Blackwulf, for cryin out loud).

Good work. I think you're catching on.

The thing I've been trying to impress lately is that Adem isn't emotionless, as he has come to be portrayed for some strange reason. His emotions are just expressed differently, hence the name I had chosen for him. I tried to do it subtly at first, but that didn't take. Now, I'm just being straight out crazy with it.

Okay, Doc, I toyed some more with the "different" emotional states Adem takes on. Lemme know if I was too over the top.

By the way, Icarus' fear is a side effect that he is experiencing from one of the Wendigo (or, as they are known in Scotland - where the pilot encountered them before, albeit briefly - Fear Liath More or 'Grey Men'). While Lykopis is getting a dose of boundless rage, Icarus is feeling overwhelming fear. (Doc, I didn't write a reaction for Adem, as I have no idea how he would respond to such a creature, or even if he would be succeptible at all.)

Have fun...

It's official! Rob Kamphausen.com has returned!

As million of fans (3 guys, 2 girls, and over a 1,000 Alt-IDs) rejoiced the return of their much-beloved message board to its proper Saturday 7pm time-slot, the changes during it's hiatus were, for some, only too obvious.

"I like the thing with the cat, but....where's Peter Davison?" commented one fanboy by the internet handle of 'thedoctor'.

"I liked Rob before the surgery. Now, those breasts are really distracting. And couldn't he at least shave that mustache?" said Rob Kamphausen.com regular 'Mxy'.

As so many have pointed out, it is not without some form of tweaking and alteration they find their much beloved home-away-from-home. Gone are the days of simple adventures through space and time. Now, the crew of the U.S.S. Kamphausen-A must face their trials and tribulations through the adversity of their own morality.

"We'll now have a point to every episode...a moral, if you will." explained Kamphausen CEO, and International Voyeur 'The Time Tryst'. "The cast of Rob.com have enjoyed the relaxed nature of their time in the Bobo Wars. Many women caught and annoyed, many men taken hostage and molested. Many, many, many alcoholic drinks consumed. And, that's all well and good. But, now we feel we have a duty to show the true horrors of something so historically significant as the Bobo Wars. A chance for us to rise above the masses, standing on a small box perhaps, and explain to them in a loud, accusing voice that, as members of a conglomerate media, we have the right to judge them as worthless piles of ****. And we do this out of love."

The advent of guest-stars from the syndicated Incandescent, a ratings winner during the past three year hiatus, is without a doubt the biggest change fans have had to endure.

"They talk funny..." lamented one large-and-in-charge fan called 'Grimm'. "...it's like those Foster beer commercials I keep seeing."

Add the obvious sex-change of their very own 'Robin Masters' himself, Rob 'Bobo' Kamphausen, and the newly designed 'space' scenery for the opening credits, and some fans wonder if this is the Kamphausen.com that they remember so well from their childhood.

"I miss the days of Joker1 and ROY BATTY...." one Chewy Walrus lamented. "...back then, all you had to worry about was whether Bobo would catch LLance peeking into his shower. Now, it's full-out ass-raping. I'm not sure this is the same show..."

"This is the same show." CEO Tryst assures. "The same cast is still here, albeit, with some additions to add a new 'flava' to the mix, as my hommies would say. And, as citizens of Kampenstein, I remind everyone that viewing is, of course, mandatory. But, we here at Rob.com feel that it is a compulsory smile that we are bringing to everyone's face."

The nation states of Bibboa and the terrorist cell 'The JQocracy' could not be reached for comment.

See, I knew all it would take was me getting eye blurringly drunk Saturday night to fix the boards. Mission accomplished.

As The Grimm can validate, I'd been jonesing all during the downtime of the boards to post in the stories. I'd had some ideas that I wanted to write out and post. Sadly, all the braincells containing these ideas as well as most of my childhood memories were killed this weekend in a horrible accident involving lager, Jack Daniels, vodka, gin, rum, and several other suspects of the Alcohol Crime Syndicate. The cells were killed execution style during their weekly book club meeting. The scene was gruesome, inhumane, and, thankfully, forgotten.

As soon as I get a break from work and trying to piece together the last 48 hours, I'll get back into the swing of things by writing in the main story as well as trying to finish up my solo story.
