Yes, because posting "We're going to have a Last Man Standing Match." is as difficult as doing an entire recap.





Anyway, it looks like we lost the thread where everyone had put their finishing moves. So, if someone wants to start a new one that also has info on what your wrestler is supposed to look like as well as entrance music, that'd be awesome. Since it does help to have all that in one place for when we do recaps, a full out and updated profile would help a lot.

It's not just saying "We're going to have a last man standing match!" You have to have an engaging promo.

So again, nyah.

Sorry, Snarf, but I think it takes just a bit more time to set up the matches, set up the voting, do the play-by-play, and think up the backstage/film footage of a "date" (merciful Powers That Be!!!) than it does to write up a promo. Even a good promo. Or an "engaging" promo. And that's not including any time taken to update rankings, set up any future matches, and answer any PMs from the "talent".

I'll start the new thread.

Let me just tell you guys something. It takes at least a full hour to write out a full on replay. And for a pay per view replay it's generally twice that.

Coming up with a show, depends on the show. I try to work with the ongoing angles where I can and fit in some stuff I think would be good matches as well. In addition to trying to work in people who show up, complain they're not on the card, and then leave again, after I've come up with ways to work them in. I look at pay per views the same way, but they're generally longer, so you have more room for more people. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it isn't.

Doc and I basically sat down last week and worked out the preliminary idea for SummerScam, leaving us some room to run things (like Sammitch's discovery of the forum) that might come up later.


I know it's just a fun distraction, and a little way to pass time, but doing the legwork on this stuff does take time and effort. I know that Nowhereman's busy as fuck with his life and hasn't had much time. So I don't mind stepping in and trying to keep things going.

But some weeks, there just isn't time. Doc and I both get worn down with our jobs sometime (as well as personal business) and just don't have the energy or desire to deal with stuff right away.

So when people scream for a Havoc or a replay because they have something that they absolutely must do, and we stop and take time and put one together, and then nobody responds following. . .it kinda takes the shine off somewhat, you know?

BTW, Give me a match against Dave(the lawyer) for the next Havoc. He's going to be in my next segment, and I found a way to utilize the brief stint he did here....

Good stuff on the profiles, guys. Nice to see some characters being fleshed out. But is it me or are there a lot of Jericho/Benoit/Edge style wrestlers in this place?

And, yes, guys, it takes a shitload of work to do this stuff. I'd spend an hour or more doing the play-by-plays to make them balanced and to not outright job people. I think that is bad form. As you can notice, the replays got smaller and smaller as time went on because of all the thought and effort put into them. Sometimes I wouldn't even post one because I was too gobdamned tired to put forth the effort. We've now reached the use of highlights, which make it that much easier. This whole thing is an ongoing experiment where we're still trying to work out the best ways of doing things. Nowhereman hit on a great idea by having voting decide the matches. We then progressed to concealed polls to prevent abuse of alt id voting and to keep up the suspense on outcomes. So, considering all our other responsibilities and such, we've put a great deal of time into this.

Most Havocs are posted at work since I ususally don't get online until late at night, if at all, at home; and I know that if they aren't up before I leave work at 5, someone will start a Where's the Havoc? thread. So things will get rushed sometimes to appease the masses. I enjoy doing it. I like working with you guys on angles and everything. It's fun. Just don't always expect the very best or a full show from just Grimm and I either. We've given you guys a lot more free reign than most real wrestling companies so that you can have as much fun as you want. Take advantage of it. Have fun.

That being said, the Scam will go up today. Staying with the formula of the PPV here, voting will go on for one week. So, prepare your promos for the Scam and work on your post PPV storylines. Remember, it's going to be an outdoor arena on the New Jersey side of the Hudson river. SoM, remind me about the Dave thing when the Scam is over so I can remember to put your match on the card.

Hey, I was the first one who owned up to being a jericho-type. 'sides, my "devastating" trademark moves are extremely different from Sammitch's (he had the liontamer. He didn't specify if it's the cool one or the one that looks like a pussy boston crab).

I'm keeping the ambigous gender gimmick, doc. It helps further differentiate my character from the other jericho-types and could be used in a future storyline, like, say, being stripped off a title or being disqualified on the grounds of being a woman and vice versa.
