It comes out on DVD here in June, so those of you with multi region players will be able to buy it!
I just got done watching it, and once again, as with Shaun of the dead, at times it takes itself to serious and tries to be a real action film, but unlike SOTD, it does have a lot more laugh out loud moments!
The cast is awesome, with some fantastic cameos from guys like Tim Dalton, Bill Nighy, Bill Bailey, Martin Freeman, Jim Broadbent, Stephen Merchant, Cate Blanchett & Steve Coogan.
The bit when Pegg does a flying kick into the face of an 80 year old woman is a sight to behold!
Oh, and Nick Frost says cunt!

Just looking at the trailers, I can tell they did their homework, much like they did with SOTD. Plenty of homages to American action flicks AND Hong Kong action. I'll see this next week and still buy the European DVD release. Best creative team in years!

Had 1 & 2 for a few years as they were available in a two disc set, but they never did release the final two for some reason (although they were nowhere near as good, which is probably why).
Decided to buy this set when I spotted it a few months back on Amazon.com, but waited til it appeared on the .co.uk site as postage would be cheaper, even though its still region 1, shipped from USA!

After seeing 300, I decided the netflix this:
This was one of those movies that I thought was overrated the first time I saw it. The poor man's Braveheart, as it were. So we watched it and while it was much, much better than I remembered, I still didn't love it as much as 300 or BH. And while Crowe was very good, Phoenix should have won an Oscar - he was fantastic as the corrupt and smarmy emperor.

I saw Smokin' Aces in the theater. It was a completely ape-shit, violent, mindless flick and I loved it. The big reveal at the end is kinda WTF, but you don't mind because you're seeing the flick for the gunfights and for Piven's meltdown. Great stuff.

As long as you go in realizing that this movie was made as an excuse to show a LOT of people get shot, you'll be fine. The story itself is paper thin. Kick back, enjoy the characters, laugh at how gay Ryan Reynolds is for Ray Liotta, enjoy Alicia Keys as eye candy and for how well she does with what little she's given, and dig on what an underrated actor Jeremy Piven is.
