Right now I'm a bit biased towards the old Wonka movie. I love Gene Wilder. I liked Big Fish so I may like the new version too. Time will tell.

My opinion is that all screwy adaptations are ripe for remaking, regardless of the merit of the original movie.
I'm hoping somone good will have the balls to make a faithful Wizard of Oz film, kinda like Return to Oz.

Willy Wonka shouldn't be remade because it's still a relevant movie that most everybody is familiar with. Burton wasted everybody's time with Planet of the Apes, another movie that didn't need remaking, and I'm expecting this to be more of the same. Especially since Big Fish was so good, I wish he'd just stick to doing creative new films.
Cool looking poster, though.
And that's terrible.
