Alias is being moved to wednesday for the fourth season. It will now follow lost! Two hours of J.J. Abrams goodness!

See, my only problem with it being moved to Wed nights is I liked the old time slot, it was cool being on Sunday nights. A nice way to start off the week. Course the advantage to this is I wont have to set the vcr when I'm at my brothers' or something, course if I go back to my church group, then I'll have to tape it. *SIGH*

Shit. I play Hockey on Wednesday night. Now I'll have to tape it.
I just hope we get a fifth season next year. This one had better kick ass, and this move had better bring in the Lost viewers.

Yeah we will get a 5th, at least. They were signed to go until the year 2007, so hopefully we'll get even more after that, if not go into movies. But then again, JJ has said that each episode is a mini movie.
From what I've heard, JJ's taking it back to the way it was, going back to that core that he had in the first 2 seasons, last season just didn't work as well as they thought. I missed hte last issue of the magazine, doubt I can pick it up now, will have to try and pick up the latest one now.

Core? As in a smaller cast of character, or the way events unfolded?

Sorry, as in the way events unfolded/storyline. I'll have to hunt down what he said and type it in. I don't remember what it was exactly.
Thanks Rex, that figures that I'd miss last issue by a week. *SIGH* Ah well, I hadn't been keeping up with my readings, I first started getting it for my Man From U.N.C.L.E/Alias crossover (needed first 2 seasons info) but then they stopped talking about the characters in general, and talked about storylines and stuff. Really all I needed was info on Jack and Sark, them being the 2 we had the least amount of information, from abc's site, and I needed all the help I could get.

ABC Teams 'Alias' with 'Lost' for Midseason Quote:
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) "Desperate Housewives" has become a runaway hit for ABC this season in the Sunday timeslot formerly occupied by "Alias." That's created a bit of a dilemma -- albeit one any network would like to have -- when it came to finding a new home for the spy series. ABC will solve that problem by pairing "Alias" with its other freshman smash, "Lost," on Wednesday nights beginning Jan. 5. Both shows are executive produced by J.J. Abrams, and ABC Entertainment president Stephen McPherson is hoping that link will help "Alias" break beyond its cult-show status in the ratings. "When we made the strategic decision this fall on 'Alias,' we only hoped to be in the situation we find ourselves in today," McPherson says. "'Lost' provides a terrific platform for 'Alias'' new season. Not only do both shows have similar audience profiles ... but they also share J.J.'s unique sensibility. This is a great two-hour block of programming." "Alias" will open its fourth season with a two-hour premiere at 9 p.m. ET Wednesday, Jan. 5. ABC is sticking to its plan to air the show without repeats through the rest of the season, which would put its season finale near the end of May sweeps.

Hopefully it wont backfire and kill the show. As it is, I might not be home much on Wednesday nights after the holidays, don't know yet, though.

Abrams also has another show in production that will star Greg Grumberg that is supposed to be an Alias spin-off. Its scheduled to start mid-season also.

Wha? He's on Lost, how is he going to star in the new show, be on Lost and Alias all at the same time? I haven't heard of him leaving Alias, at least I don't remember hearing anything of him leaving.

Actually, Greg Grumberg didn't make it past the first half of the Pilot Episode (he was the pilot, and the "monster" got him, remember?).
When I first realized that he was going to be on LOST I flipped out. I love him as Weiss. But, if he's going to spin off onto another Abrams show that's cool with me. I just hope it doesn't end up on Thursday nights.

Actually I've never seen an episode of Lost so I didn't know that. Good to know he wont be stretching himself too thin.
I really loved the way Weiss and Syd got close last season.

Here are ABC's description of the first few episodes.
Episode one and two Authorized Personnel Only, Parts I and II Sydney, Vaughn, Jack and Dixon are stunned by CIA Director Hayden Chase's (Angela Bassett) choice to be their new boss. Meanwhile, Sydney and Vaughn's possible reconciliation is surprisingly in doubt -- even though Lauren is dead -- and Sydney learns an appalling secret about Jack that threatens to destroy their relationship. Additionally, against Sydney's vehement objections, her new boss partners her with Jack to hunt down a modern-day samurai; Sydney's half-sister, Nadia, is reluctant to return to the spy game since learning the truth about her father -- Arvin Sloan; and Vaughn and Jack share a surprising bond over Jack's unspeakable past misdeed - much to Sydney's chagrin.
Episode three The Awful Truth To learn the location of a stolen NSA code-breaker, an undercover Sydney must convince a murderous arms dealer to fall in love with her. Meanwhile, Vaughn fears that Weiss might have been killed on a mission, and Sydney and Jack argue about telling Nadia the horrible truth about her mother, Irina.
Episode four Ice Sydney goes undercover as an earthy social worker and Vaughn as a lascivious, semi-tipsy priest to track down a deadly new bio-weapon. Meanwhile, Sydney is frightened when Vaughn's inner-demons regarding deceased wife Lauren come to the surface, and Nadia turns to a reluctant Jack to learn truths about her mother, Irina.

I can't WAIT!
I missed the commercial, but downloaded it and have seen it.
I heard Lauren's not dead and that she'll be back in a recuring role, think I read that in the Alias magazine.
Can't wait to find out what Syd saw on those documents, since I still don't have the 3rd season set, hoping I'll get it for Chirstmas.
I really hope and wish they'd end the Syd Vaughn thing one and for all. He was never a good choice for her, Will was the better choice, she needs stability which Will can provide.
anyway, gotta get links to things I want for my birthday so my oldest brother will know what to get me, since he asked yesterday and I told him I'd send him an email and Saturday is approaching REALLY fast (that being when I'll see him next).

I like Sydney and Vaughn being a couple. I doubt Will will be back in any major way because he's on two other shows now.

J.J's talking to him about coming back so here's hoping. They need to get Lena back first though, last season was lacking without her, although it was intersting with Katya.
I absolutly loved the one where at the end, Jack went to her place and said, "Just so you know, I can get through this alone" then kissed her and they went inside. My mom and I both screamed at that.

The first episode with Katya was the worst episode of Alias. Lena Olin is not coming back either. She has said it herself. If Abrams was smart he would drop both of those characters.

Go and get season 1-3 on DVD. The show is much better on DVD because there are so many different plots going on. Season one is excellent, season two is the best and season three the quality went down some but it is still very good. I have seen each season for about 45 dollars at places like circuit city and target.
If you have never seen it before, I would describe the show as a female version of James Bond, but much better and based in America.

Sounds tempting, .. but.. that's so much to buy and watch in 17 days. Maybe I can find a way to tape the fourth season each week and save them for later. I can't promise anything, but I'll try.

Blockbuster has it for rental too.
Yes definitley watch the show, and whatever you do, DO NOT start watching it at season 4. Start with the 1st episode and watch them all in order. Otherwise you might as well shoot yourself because you'll be so lost. Trust me, I came in at the Super Bowl episode frist season and by the next week, I was HOOKED, I scoured the web looking for any and everything I could find about the episodes that I missed and it didn't do them justice. It wasn't until I saw them for myself that I finally got what was going on.
BTW, David Anders was on CSI last night. Too bad I didn't know that was on then and was in the kitchen listening but not watching for the first half. It wasn't until I sat down to watch that I saw him. His regular voice is much different from not only the accent he uses for Sark, but the pitch as well.
It was also kind of weird seeing him a lab tech, I'm so used to him as Sark. lol

Is he going to be a regular on CSI now? I think he's not going to be a main character anymore on Alias.

Nope, it was a one time shot from what I've seen/heard. I haven't read all the issues of the magazine, but I don't think I've seen anyone (online) say anything about him not being a big a character as before/on as much. I could be wrong. I'll have to whip out the latest issue and check.

Sideways, I just thought of something, you can always do what my older brother does, not watch it when it's on the air and wait until it comes out on DVD then watch the entire season. Torture I know, but it's a thought.
OR, you could have a few weekend marathons while taping the first few weeks of season 4, then get caught up with 4 and watch the rest of it from that point on.

You can start watching it this season and understand most of whats going on, but watching the previous seasons will give you a much better understanding of whats going on now.

Well, my sister in-law failed me. She didn't get me season 3 like I was hoping/expecting, so now I have to see how much it's at Best Buy and either get it there, or some place cheaper, and use the gift cert she gave me on something else.

I just now saw the pilot episode and I gotta tell you it was really great. Normally I get mixed up when a show slips in and out of flashbacks, but Syd's hair color made that easier to keep track of. Dang! So much happens in this episode alone! But hey, a good pilot IS important for a show to take off, isn't it?

Apparently you missed my sig on the old boards, I had that on there after I'd seen the pilot episode.
Get used to that, the entire series is like that, a whole lot going on, you sometimes have to watch it more than once because you can easily miss things the first time around.
