Nope, just woke up about an hour ago, not for the first time though. I'm staying home, and getting caught up on somet things, like work and laundry, while my mom heads out to my sister's in-laws. I had the chance to go either there or my cousins' but I didn't feel like driving to my cousins' and I really do want to get caught up on some things so I'm home.
However, we're doing the family thing on Saturday, we've been doing it like that for a few years now due to my sister and older brother going to their inlaws on turkey day.
It's a rented tux ok? I'm not going comando in another man's fatigues.

As a resident of the UK, I would like to know: Are Thanksgiving Celebrations on a similar scale to Christmas or is it a bit more low-key?

i'm celebrating with the fam. big dinner and all that stuff. i haven't eaten all day and we're waiting for my dad to wake up. i wish he'd just wake up already, i'm incredibly hungry.
my best friend doesn't celebrate turkey day at all. two years today his father died. he was a good man. my bud plans to go out drinking later. i'll join him (minus the drinking myself, of course) if i can.

been up since 7 this morning, cooked 40 pounds worth of bird a shit load of potatoes, have the tradional cabbage noodles and tamales. bout 20 people, mostly family and some of my cousins fire fighter buddies. my feet hurt. i have to take my jeans off.
And, to be fair, one of my favorite friends there is blind and I take every opportunity available to make fun of that and we're still friends. That guy never fit there. He never got the spirit of the RKMBs. We're gonna keep an eye on the obits, see if he finally left or if he really did have a heart attack.

I had dinner with the family, didn't bother to go anywhere else since everyone's probably closed. I'm also watching the Transformers Energon marathon with ep's I hadn't seen yet, including two world premiers! I'm still waiting for an Energon incarnation of Sideways, but no luck yet. He was the most interesting character in Armada (like you didn't know that already.  )

The next thing I remember after sipping two ounces if wine was waking up in Weston, CT with my clothes mildly torn and surrounded by 37 guys laying around with their balls torn off. Must have been quite an evening, but what's the point if I wasn't sober enough to remember it?
I don't know why the people of this mudball of a planet think drinking helps you have a good time and "loosen up". I'm never (and URSA means EVER) drinking again! Alcohol licks crusty unwiped roid-covered AIDS-infested ass (metaphorically speaking).

Mine was alright...I sent it with my parents and lil sis. I got up at around eleven and nobody made anything. So finally around 1 pm I got up and started making the whole Thanksgiving thing happent his year. People just got tooo lazy ;p
Then my family spent about five minutes talking around the table before the phone rang for my sister (one of her guy friends "checking in") and she stayed on it like for fifteen minutes. Other than that, it was alright! Then we visited my grandmother in rehab and that was kinda fun. The rest of the day was spent relaxing in front of the t.v. as a family (which we do VERY rarely) enjoyin' old SNL re-runs.

We had ours today, it was fun. It was at my sister's and she invited our cousins, so they showed up when we were eating dessert, with 2 desserts and a bag of rice. I saw my one cousin walk in with the bag, I was sitting in the dinning room and saw them at the door when they came in, then ran into the kitchen to tell my sister they were here with dessert and rice. My sister cracked up about the rice, it became a short lived joke. Then they made a plate and ate, then had dessert, while we sat around chatting. I'll write more about it in my journal, just need to make it to there first.  OH and Princess, sorry about not responding to that last IM, just got busy and forgot about it/haven't had time to. I'm not ignoring you!
