My dad finally got a job in his field again. He's workingas an electrical engineer for a small local company. I just found out that his new project is to build a memory chip that will be utilized in a space probe to study the moons of Jupiter.

This is the first time I have seen my Dad do something really really cool.

Is this the Jupiter Icy Moons Orbiter spacecraft?

It's supposed to be going to Callisto, Ganymede and Europa but not until 2015 at the earliest.

Congrats Uschi! I"m happy for you That's really cool....my dad has a pretty boring job: Placing people in jobs which sucks right now as just about everybody knows :P

I'm not really sure what he does, but my dad can beat up your dad.

My dad manned the Radio in the military. He was an officer because he avoided fighting in the war by finishing his college first. He was the radio guy. The radio. Anyone could beat up my dad.

He also was on the team which designed an importent chip in the first playstation.

I'm trying to get a link the whatever the project is but Dad hasn't e-mailed it to me yet.

My dad was on the launch team at Vandenberg Air Force Base. He fucking launched missiles into space. Nothing beats that.

My dad was a civil engineer who built bridges in Jordan........

My dad is an astronaut...

My dad's been a store manager for Blockbuster Video for over 14 years. He's the most experienced manager in his district, and has won a bunch of awards, including customer service. He's the guy that trains managers-to-be, and is first in line to stand in for the District Manager in case of an emergency.

It's because of him that I became interested in film and the media.

He was also in the Air Force form 1968 to 1972, stationed at Homestead Air Force Base (in South Florida.) In addition to working in transportation, he was a practical joker who somehow never got court-martialed for all the crazy stuff he pulled (like shaking President Nixon's hand while wearing a button for someone who had ran against him - Nixon would land at the Homestead base when visiting friends in Key West. When Nixon saw the button, he pulled his hand away.)

My dad is a Haitian immigrant who came into this country and made bookoo (sp?) bucks.

Actually he launched a lot of defense satellites and commercial satellites for cell phones and stuff.

AND shot down aliens?

He shot down the aliens' bank accounts with high overage charges for their cell phones and satellite TV.

He also did tests on monkeys. Alive and dead. I visited him at work once and he had a monkey skeleton hanging by his desk.

Did he make the monkey dance?

My dad and I send a box of condoms to the National Coloreds Athletics Association every year. Our intent is giving them to the players so they can't breed anymore.

The Jupiter Icy Moons Orbiter is an ambitious proposed mission to orbit three planet-sized moons of Jupiter -- Callisto, Ganymede and Europa -- which may harbor vast oceans beneath their icy surfaces. The mission would launch in 2015 or later. ((LINK))
