I don't know if your local CBS does this, but one of mine occasionally displays a couple copies of a new release at the register, with a banner proclaiming "xxxx"'s Pick of the Week!
Well this week's picks were Astonishing X-Men 8 and GL:Rebirth #4. Two books LEAST needing this kind of hype, IMHO.
So I good-naturedly needled the guy at the counter, and told him to tell "xxxx" I thought he should do a little research on what DOES need that kind of a push... After all, Manhunter, Ocean, Space Ghost and Academy X all had new issues out this week too.
Why push something that's already been hyped to the sky in favor of stuff that's sturggling to survive? I don't get it.
Can anybody relate?
