Quote: Animalman said: I like Cate Blanchett a lot, and she did a superb job with what she was given, but the Hepburn character in The Aviator was a complete and utter joke. It was as if instead of actually trying to portray the person the writer simply put in Hepburn's character from Philadelphia Story(or Bringing Up Baby, or any of her other well-to-do, socialite characters).
Be that as it may, Cate was playing the Kate we, the fans, knew, and that still took an acting ability. She convinced me she was channeling Hepburn, thus increasing the movie's believability (I felt Leo did similar as Hughes).
Furthermore, THE AVIATOR'S Hepburn was a character in a piece of cinematic fictional drama. THE AVIATOR was not a documentary, so there was no reason to play Hepburn as she may have *really* (really) been.
