OK, before I spend time on this, can I ask an honest question. Do you really care? Honestly if I think there's going to be value out of this I'll invest some time into it, but if your just being contrary then you get what you get (This approach I learned from you by the way) So honestly. Do you care? Do you honestly believe the scriptures attach magical powers to the physical blood of Jesus rather than his sacrifice on teh cross or are you just being a r3x?

Yes, but don't answer the question unless you're ready for me to debate your reasoning.

That's fine, but is this going to be one of those debates where you refuse to ever state what your position is, because those get old fast. Any hoo, I'll start simple.

OK, 1 John 6-8 (we know from the whole of 1 John that he is speaking to a group that includes some people who never encountered Jesus in person and can be assumed never go "bled on"

Quote:

6If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

We have "the blood of Jesus" directly tied to the covenant and the "walking in the light" and having fellowship with one another.

From Hebrews:

Quote:

19I particularly urge you to pray so that I may be restored to you soon.

20May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Here it's clearly stated that the blood refered to is the blood of the covenant. I'm sure if you've read the Bible numerous times you know that Jesus is refered to as teh sacrificail lamb. and that all covenants from teh Adamic to the Moseic to the Abramic covenant have allwase been sealed in blood with a sacrifice. And when refering to the "blood of the lamb" would refer to the covenant made with the sacrifice of said lamb.
