We need this. We need this now. Super-Hip in continuity.

You know how all the big ones have their own qualifying description (World's Mightiest Mortal, The Fastest Man Alive, etc.)? This guy was billed as "America's Most Disgusting Super-Hero!" Beat that.

For a nemesis? I nominate another candidate for continuity re-entry... Goody Rickles!

You love this. You need this. You know it.

The good news is that they are bringing Super-hip back.

The bad news is that "they" are Judd Winnick, AJ Lieberman and Brad Meltzer, and the comeback occurs in the first issue of DC mini-series.

By the end of the issue it will be revealed that Super-hip is gay and dying of AIDS, but no matter because Goody Rickels shoots him in the head, reveals himself to be a criminal genius and sets into motion a series of events that "will change the DC universe forever."

I wouldn't put it past them, in all honesty. Hell, look what Kevin Smith did with Stanlet And His Monster.

I don't feel right about Meltzer being lumped in with Winick and Lieberman...

I can see it now: it opens at Bob Hope's funeral... a grown-up Renfrew Lewis and Tadwallader Jutefruce standing in the rain with hanged heads and clenched fists...

Unfortunately, Meltzer allowed himself to be lumped in with them through "Countdown to Infinite Crisis."

Meltzer could make Super-Hip and Goody Rickles work. Artwork by Rags or Van Sciver... Top 10 material, right there.

He had nothing to do with that (other than writing the series that led into it rather indirectly). That was Winick, Johns, and Rucka...
